Crochet Diya Wall Hanging, Diwali Special Showpiece

 

Hello friends,

Ganeshotsav finishes and now my friends must be thinking about the Navaratri and Diwali Decoration. Hence I made this Diya Wall Hanging. It is the best gift you can give to your friends on Diwali occassion. We have already made some Diwali showpieces. I posted it on 9th Nov 2020.

Here also I made one such Diya but it is small one.

PATTERN: With Yellow yarn make,

R1: in magic loop ch1, sc6, cl

R2: ch1, sc2 in each st, cl (12)

R3: Work in back loop only, [sc1 in 2 sts, (sc2) in next] 4 times, cl (16)

R4: ch1, [sc1 in 3 sts, (sc2) in next] 4 times, cl (20)

R5: ch1, sc1 in each st, cl.(20)

R6:ch1, [sc1 in 3 sts, (sc2) next ]2 times, sc1, hdc1, (dc2) , hdc1, sc1, (sc2) next, sc3, (sc2), sc2, cl. BO.

Flame: join  orange yarn in between 2dcs,make ch3, incomplete dc2, YO through all, BO.

Make such 5 diyas.

DROP SHAPE: with red yarn make, 

R1: ( dc2, ch1) 5 times, dc2, ch2 at last, cl. Last ch2 is corner of the drop shape. (First dc means ch3)

R2: (dc4 in ch1-sp, ch1, in ch2-sp (dc2, ch2, dc2), ch1, sl st in first dc. 

Sl st till the middle of 4dcs, means dc2 on both sides of the st. 

R3: [dc3 in between dc4-space, ch1, dc4 in ch1-sp] rep till ch3-sp, in ch2-sp make (dc2, ch3, dc2), ch1, 

[dc3 in between dc4-space, ch1, dc4 in ch1-sp] rep till end, cl. 

R4: (dc4 in ch1-sp between two groups of dc3, ch1) rep till ch3-sp, (dc2, ch3, dc2) in ch2-sp, (dc4 in  ch1-sp, ch1) rep till end, cl.

R5: [dc2 in middle of dc4 (means dc2 on both sides), ch1, dc2 in ch1-sp, ch1] rep till ch3-sp (dc2, ch3,  dc2) in ch3-sp, again  [dc2 in middle of dc4 (means dc2 on both sides), ch1, dc2 in ch1-sp, ch1] rep  till end, cl

R6: [dc3 in ch1-sp, ch1] rep till ch3-sp, at centre (dc2, ch3, dc2), again [dc3 in ch1-sp, ch1] rep till end,

                                                        
R7 and R8: same as R6. 

Now from top corner skip 6 group of dc3 on both sides and place markers. In between two markers we  have 64 sts. Then we make a border with design of 8 sts, so 8 patterns will be there and above markers  we shall work only scs. 

Join green yarn at the marker's place on left side. 

Border R1: ch1, sc1 in same st, [ ch2, skip 3 sts in ch1-sp make (dc2, ch2, dc2), ch2, skip 3 sts, sc1 in  next] rep 8 times, sc1 in each st and sc1 in each ch1-sp till ch3-sp, there, sc5, again sc1 in each st and  sc1 in each ch1-sp till marker, cl

BR2: [ch2, in ch2-sp (dc4, ch2, dc4). ch2, sc on sc-st] 8 times, cl, BO. 

First thread 8 beads in plane green yarn and join it at first sc-st.

BR3: ch1, sc2 in ch2-sp, sc1 in each of the 4 dc-sts, in ch2-sp make sc1, bead 1, sc1, then again sc2 in    ch2-sp, sl st on sc-st] 8 times, cl, BO.

Big Flower: in magic loop make (ch4, tr1, ch4, sl st in magic loop) 6 times, cl, BO.

Small Flower: in magic loop make (ch3, dc1, ch3, sl st in magic loop) 6 times, cl, BO.

Glue Diyas and these flowers on the drop as shown or as per your way. Decorate it with beads latkan.

The beautiful Wallpiece or Diya show piece is ready.
