Beautiful Crochet Doily or Tablemat as the Ganapati Bappa's Aaasan

Hello friends,

How are you all, hope doing good. This beautiful Doily, Tablemat I made specially for Festival Season as Ganeshotsav, Diwali. So that you can use it as Aasan for Ganesh ji or Laxmi ji idols. It is made in Red Heart and Bernet yarns. Though recommended hook on Red Heart is 5 mm, still I use 3.5 mm so that it will nearly give same measurements as made by my subscribers in India with Vardhaman Millenium or same type of yarn. Ganga Desire yarn from India gives very much same result as those of Red Heart.

I hope that you will enjoy to make it. Some suggestions are instead of Brown you can use Dark Pink (Rani color) or you can also use dark purple shade from R2 of second layer petals.

PATTERN:

With Biscuit color make R1: dc 12 in magic loop, cl (12). Note that our first dc will be always ch3.

R2: (dc2) in each st, cl (24)

R3: [dc1 in 1 st, (dc2) in next] 12 times, cl (36)

R4: [dc1 in 2 sts, (dc2) in next] 12 times, cl (48)

R5: [dc1 in 3 sts, (dc2) in next] 12 times, cl (60)

R6: [dc1 in 4 sts, (dc2) in next] 12 times, cl (72)

Work next three rounds in back loop of the stitch only.

R7: [dc1 in 5 sts, (dc2) in next] 12 times, cl (84)

R8: [dc1 in 6 sts, (dc2) in next] 12 times, cl (96)

R9: [dc1 in 7 sts, (dc2) in next] 12 times, cl (108)

Join dark brown color at unworked front loop of any st of R7

R10: ch1, sc1 in same st, (ch4, sl st in same st, sl st in next st) rep till end, cl.

Then pass to the next level corresponding front loop of R8

R11: and R12: Repeat R10 on front loop of  R8 and R9 also.

Then pass on to the corresponding st of R9.

R13: Make hdc1 in the gap between two dcs of R9. BO.

Hide yarn end properly. If you wish you can have one more round like R10 on hdc  of R+

For first layer of petals join light purple yarn at any st.

R1: ch1, sc1 in same st, (chs 13, sc1 in each ch starting from 2nd ch (12 scs), sc1 in next 5 sts of R10, sc1 in next) repeat till the end, cl. {18 petal bases are formed}

R2: on 12 scs of base of petal make, [sc2, hdc1, dc2, (dc2) in next 2 sts, dc2, hdc1, sc2, ch2, then on other side also make sc2, hdc1, dc2, (dc2) in 2 sts, hdc1, sc2, skip first and last sts out of base 5 sc-sts that means make sc 3] rep 18 times, cl.

R3: [sc2, hdc2, dc2 (dc2) next, dc7, (dc2, ch1, dc2) in ch2-sp, on other side make dc7, (dc2) next, dc2, hdc2, sc2, skip first and last sc on base sc-sts (out of 3 scs), so sc 1 on the middle sc-st] 18 times, cl.

R4: [sc1 in each st till ch1-sp, (sc1, ch1-picot, sc1) in ch1-sp, sc1 in each st on other side till last 2 sts, then join last but one st on petal with second stitch of next petal (skipping total 3 sts: last st of running petal middle st on base and first st of next petal)] rep 18 times, cl, BO.

Second Layer of Petals: Join purple color at the stitch below current level exactle at the joint of two petals of first layer petals. So that new petal should come out in between two petals of layer one.

R1: ch1, sc1 in same place, [chs 13, sc 1 on each ch starting from second ch, sl st in the same st, ch7, sc 1 in the st below the joint of next two petals in the first layer] 18 times, cl, (Bases of 18 petals formed)

R2: now on sc12 of base of petal make, [sc2, hdc1, dc2, (dc2) in next 2 sts, dc2, hdc1, sc2, ch2, then on other side also make sc2, hdc1, dc2, (dc2) in 2 sts, hdc1, sc2, (ch3, sc1 on ch7-space, ch3)] rep 18 times, cl

R3: [sc2, hdc2, dc2 (dc2) next, dc7, (dc2, ch1, dc2) in ch2-sp, on other side make dc7, (dc2) next, dc2, hdc2, sc2, (ch2, sc1 on sc-st (on ch7-sp), ch2)] 18 times, cl.

R4: [sc1 in each st till ch1-sp, (sc1, ch1-picot, sc1) in ch1-sp, sc1 in each st on other side, (ch1, sc1 on sc-st (on ch7-sp), ch1)] rep 18 times, cl, BO.

Unable to Post for last two months.....

Hello friends,

I am back on my blog nearly after two months. These 2 months are really crazy. My channel "Kalopasak" is selected for the Bonus Program run by youtube and I participated in that. So in May, June July I decided to post 3 videos per week, instead of 2 which usually I did. In between I had to go to USA for 5 months hence so much necessary work to complete in India. Also I planned to sheduled videos upto 20 July since my grandkids had vaccation till 19th and once in USA, I wanted to spend full time with them.  In between one week passed in some marriage ceremony. So very much hectic shedule and I could not write my blog.

Now I am back to my routine. In this post I am showing you not my creation but creation of some one else.

My first crochet video on my channel is "Introduction to crochet and how to make chains".

I remember this because,

When I came here, my grand daughter, 7 years old wanted to learn crochet from me. I tought them how to make chain and also how to join to form a ring. Then she wanted to give some handmade chrochet thing to her teacher on the first day of school. I just gave her an idea of making flower of those chain and she made really nice flower. I just help to join chains for petal two times, rest she completed. Then my grand son also tried and make second one.

But next day I was wonder-struck seeing her imagination power, when she showed me and say, "Aaji, (Grand mom) see, I made a man!!!"
Then she understood that Aaji was very happy by her creation, she made a girl also and shwed me.

Totally she made it herself, I didn't help her for even 1%. It was really wonderful!!
I have never shown her any of my video. Even she don't understand Marathi (language of my channel)
That day only I taught her how to make chains and she also told me it's uses that, "Aaji you can use it as a Book mark or as a Keychain or you can play with it".
I was so happy and I really felt that these arts are being transfered to next generation. This is exactly what I wanted or what is my intension to start with my Youtube channel.

Thanks that you read my feelings....
