Hello friends,

Here I made a new Samai rangoli (for details please read my post on 20 Aug 2022)

https://alkaandart.blogspot.com/search?q=samai+rangoli

I have already posted nine Samai Rangolis and this is tenth one.

I used Turquoise and red Vardhamaan Millenium yarn and 3.5 mm hook.

It's outer diameter is 10.7" and inner diameter 5.5". It's weight is 40 gm.

Pattern:

With Turquoise color yarn make ring of chs 60.

R2: (dc1 in 3 sts, dc2 in next) 15 times, cl (75)

R3: (dc1 in 4 sts, dc2 in next) 15 times, cl (90)

Join red yarn at any st.

R4: ch1, sc1 in same st, (ch3, skip 2 sts, sc1 in next) rep till end, cl. (30 loops).

R5: Sl st in next loop, (sc 2 in next ch4-sp, ch 10, TURN join by sl st in first sc-st, TURN, sc 16 in ch10-ring, sc 1 in same ch4-sp) rep in each of the 29 ch10-ring,

then insert second ring in first, third ring in second and so on till 29  rings.

Then sc2 in last ch4-sp, chs 11, then (sc 1 in second ch, sc2 in next) 5 times, sc 1 in last ch. Fix this strip in first loop as shown in the video below.

Join green yarn at any st.

R6:(tr1 in 2 sts, ch2) rep till end cl. From back side it will look as,

R7: (sc 1 in 2 tr-st, sc 3 in ch2-sp, sc1 in 2 tr-sts, dc9 in the space between two next trebles) rep till end, cl.

Make sl st till the mid of 7 sc-sts.

R8:[ (ch1, bptr1 on dc-st) 9 times, ch1, sc 1 in the middle sc-st (out of 7)] rep till end, cl.

Join red yarn in ch1-sp between 2nd and 3rd bptr-sts.

It will look beautiful when Samai (special oil light) is placed in between.

Crochet Flower Bunch, Best Use of Left Over Yarn, Home Decor

Hello friends,

Summer started here. Temperature is 40 degree celcius. A big project with wool like shawl, sweater is impossible. So I have presented here small project with just left over yarns. I made this flower basket (Flower pot) from the left over yarn with me. Plastic bucket and filler are with me so I arrange them as above. You can have your own choice, own liking of colors and all to arrange them.

Most of the yarns are Vardhamaan Millenium and hook 1.75 mm.

Flowers: In a magic loop make ch1, sc8, cl, BO.

R2: Join other color at any st, [ch6, db tr tr 2 in the same st, ch6, sl st in the same st] 8 times, cl, BO.

Strenghten the petals by water or by starch stray.

Centre of flower: With yellow, (in a magic loop make sc1, ch3) 6 times, cl BO.

Sepal: With green in a magic loop ch1, sc1, [ch4, sl st in each (3) starting from second ch, sc 1 in the mag loop] 5 times, cl, BO.

Glue the flower, then cetral part and sepal at the bottom. Attach green paper wrapped metal stem of different lengths to this.

Bud: ch2, 5dcpopcorn in the first ch, ch3, sl st in the first ch again, BO.

Sepal: In a mag loop, ch1, [sc1, ch2, sl st in first ch, sc1 in mag loop] 5 times, cl, BO.

Attach sepal and bud to the metal stem wrapped with green paper.

Leaves Stem: Make 100 chs.

R1: sl st 4 starting from second ch, sl st in next ch, [ch 7, sl st 6 starting from second ch, sl st in next ch (out of 100 chs)] 8 times, then sl st in next ch,  [ch 8, sl st 7 starting from second ch, sl st in next ch (out of 100 chs)] 8 times, then sl st in next ch, [ch 9, sl st 8 starting from second ch, sl st in next ch (out of 100 chs)] repeat till all 100 chs done.

Take a metal stem wrapped with green papaer, apply some glue at the starting and wrap the leaves 100 chs work around the meatl stem as shown in video. Also apply glue at the end.

Make flowers, buds and leaves stem as much as you want. Then take a plastic pot and fill it with flower foam brick. Arrange your flowers, buds and leaves as per your choice.

Crochet Prayer Rug (Puja Aasan 3), Chowki for Puja

Hello friends,

This is the third prayer rug in Interlock stitch. In this stitch the rows overlap each other half the way and that why it becoems thick which is very beneficial to the Prayer rug or baby blanket. Moreover it has no holes hence it is best for making the bag. I had already posted one card holder using this stitch, on 21st June 2021.

https://alkaandart.blogspot.com/search?q=interlock%20stitch

There I had explained the stitch in details.

This prayer rug is 17" x 17" and it's weight is 125 gm.

PATTERN: With white make chs equals to multiple of 6 + 3. Here I made 81 (=78+3) chs.

R1: dc1 in 4th and 5th ch, (ch3, skip 3 sts, dc1 in next 3 sts) rep till end. Don't cut the yarn.

R2: Join red yarn, ch3 turn, make dc 1 in next 3 sts in the below level. Note that ch3 in white are covered by these 3 dcs. dc 3 in skipped 3 sts of forst row.

R3: Join brown yarn, dc3 turn, dc 1 in 2 white sts (one row below) (taking red ch3 inside), (ch3, dc1 in skipped 3 white sts) rep till end,

R4: with white, ch3 as first dc, (ch3, dc 1 in 3 skipped red stitches) rep till end

Repeat rows 2, 3 and 4 till the required width of the Aasan (prayer rug).

Border: If the last row is ready then make hdc 1 in each st below and sc 1 in each st of previous row with red yarn.

On other side make hdc 2 in each dc.

On third side make sc 1 on white sts, hdc 1 in red sts which are below. Last side same as opposite side.

Attach tassels on two side. The beautiful prayer rug is here.

Crochet Prayer Rug (Puja Aasan 2), Chowki for Puja

Hello friends,

This is second Prayer Rug that I made. It's very simple and beginners can make it. Moreover it looks very pretty.

I had made this in Vardhamaan Magnus yarn which is thick like 6 ply and 3.5 mm hook.

PATTERN:

Make chs equal to the length 21-22 inches with red yarn. I made 84+6 chs.

R1: dc1 in 6th ch, (ch1, skip 1 st, dc1 in next) till end. (42 ch1-spaces made).

We want to make 6x6 in each colour, moreover same colour at all 4 corners. Hence we have taken odd multiple of 6 (i.e.42)

R2: ch 3+1, (dc1 on dc-st, ch1) rep till end, dc 1 in last dc-st.

Repeat this row till there are 6 rows with red.

Then make rows with white yarn and again make 6 rows.

Again 6 rows of red, 6 rows of white like this till length and width are same.

Then thread 2 yarns in tapestry needle and pass the yarn through these windows as shown for 6 rows.

Then thread white yarn for 6 rows then again 6 rows red etc.

Repeat this till all rows covered.
