Crochet Cushion Cover 3, Square Pillow Cover

Hi,

This third pattern is very different. It dose'nt cover the cushion but it just fits as a cap on cushion. I made it with three granny squares. It really looks very beautiful.

Yarn: Vardhamaan Millenium, Weight 100 gm approx.

Granny square:

R1: With white yarn, (dc1, ch1) 8 times, in a mag loop, cl, BO.

Join yellow yarn at any ch2-sp.

R2: (5 dc tog in ch2-sp, ch2) 8 times, cl.

Join green yarn at any ch2-sp

R3: [dc3 in ch2-sp, ch1, (dc3, ch2, dc3), called shell, in next ch2-sp, ch1] 4 times, cl.

Join another shade of green. Now we work on two sides only.

Row 4: (dc3, ch1) 3 times, shell on shell, (dc3, ch1) 2 times, dc3. BO.

R5: ch3+1, (dc3, ch1) 3 times, shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp) 3 times, ch1, dc1 in last sp. BO.

Join white yarn at ch2-sp of shell. Here we work along all 4 sides.

R6: [shell on shell, (ch1, dc3) 3 times] 4 times, cl. BO.

Make 3 such granny squares which will measure nearly 12”if placed like this.

Join dark green yarn at the left corner.

R1: ch3, (dc3 in next gap, ch1) 3 times, then without making ch1, dc3 in the first gap of second granny square it’s after shell, (ch1, dc3) 3 times on second granny,

R2: ch3 turn, (dc3, ch1) 2 times, dc3 in last gap of first granny, dc3 in first gap (after shell) of second granny, (ch1, dc3) 2 times, dc1 in last gap.

R3: ch3 turn, dc3, ch1, dc3 in first granny, dc3 in gap of second granny, ch1 dc3, ch1, dc1 in last gap.

R4: ch3 turn, dc3 in second granny, dc3 in first granny, dc1 in last gap.

Lastly ch3, sl st at joint, ch3, sl st at last dc.

Similarly make triangle and fill the space between second and third granny squares.

Now to fill end gap and to get straight shape at the top, turn and join green yarn at the first gap after shell. So that R1 will be on wrong side.

R1: (dc3, ch1) 2 times, dc1 in last gap.

R2: ch3 turn, (dc3, ch1) 3 times, dc1 in last sp.

R3: ch3 turn, (dc3, ch1) 2 times, dc1 in last gap

R4: ch3 turn, dc3, ch1, dc 1 in last gap.

Similarly make triangular portion and fill last gap to appear it as,
Then we work on this new top side.

R1: dc2 in each gap, if necessary make dc 1 at joint.

After R1 we have 64 sts.

R2: ch3, turn, (skip 2 sts, dc3 in next gap) rep till end, lastly skip 2 sts, dc1 in last st.

Join next color yarn.

R3: dc2 in first and last gap, dc3 in each gap in between.

R4: dc1 in first and last st, dc3 in each gap in between.

Repeat R3 and R4 with another shade of green and then by white color.

Then repeat R3 and R4 by dark green till there are 16 more rows.

Fold and sew by tapestry needle till other end joins granny’s corner.

Make tassels and join them as shown in photo 2.

Wear it as if a cap to the cushion. If you want you can make a simple chord of chains to tie the middle point from front to back.

Crochet Cushion Cover 2, Square Pillow Cover

Friends this is the second design of Cushion cover. Here also we start as a granny square but make it only for front side. Then on back side we e xtend it on all four sides by working triangles.

Yarn: Vardhamaan Millenium 4 ply, 3.5 mm. size 12" x 12".

PATTERN:

R1: in a magic loop make [(puff, ch2, puff) called shell, ch2] 4 times, cl.
Sl st till ch2-sp
R2: [dc1 in each of the 3 chs, shell on shell]4times, cl.
R3: [dc2 in first gap (before first dc), don't 3 dcs, dc2 in gap after last dc, shell on shell] 4 times, cl.
There are 7 dcs in between Two shells.
R4: [dc2 in the fsp before first dc, dc on each dc, dc2 in gap after last dc, shell on shell] 4 times, cl.
Repeat R4 till the length is same as length of the cushion.

Now the back side we made in a different manner. Ofcourse  you can use the technique as in first cushion and make this granny of length equal to the diameter.
Four triangles on back side.
For triangle join yarn in any ch2-sp of shell.
Row1: ch3,  (skip 3 sts, dc3 in next) rep till next corner.

There are 12 dc3 groups. The number will be same as the rounds made for granny.
R2: ch3 turn, dc3 in each gap, dc1 in last sp
There are 11 dc 3-groups.

Thus continue till there are only two dc3-groups.
Lastly dc1, then in between two dc3-groups make (dc1, ch2, dc1) (instead of dc3), dc 1 in last sp. BO
Similarly complete all three sides.
Then fold on back side and sew from corner till half side.
Make chord by three threads and make chs.
Then make tassels.
Make ch2. (puff1 in first ch, thread one bead) 5 times, cl.

Make such three and join by big bead.

Sew it at the centre, or make two and sew them at two corners as in the first cushion.

Crochet Cushion Cover 1, Square Pillow Cover

Hello friends,

Actually in these days, I made 6 Cushion covers of three different designs. But so late to post.

This is the first design very cute and simple to do. Just make one large granny square and the cushion cover is ready. Here is the simple pattern.

First measurements of cushion: 12' x 12" and diameter 16.5".

I used Vardhamaan Millenium yarn and 3,5 mm hook. It's weight is 120 gm.

PATTERN:

R1: With yellow, in a magic ring (sc1, ch4) 8 times, cl, BO.

Join pink in ch4 loop

R2: (ch3, tr3 in ch3-loop, ch3, sl st in same loop, ch1, dl st in next loop), BO.

Join green in ch1-sp

R3: (sc1 in ch1-sp, ch4) 8 times, cl.

Sl st in next ch4-sp

R4: [(dc3, ch3, dc3) in ch4-sp, dc3 in next ch4,-sp] 4 times, cl.

Sl  st till ch2-sp of shell,

R5: [shell, (dc3 in next gap)2 times] 4 times, cl.

Join yellow yarn in the first space between two dc3 s.

R6:  dc3 in each sp between two dc3-groups, shell at each corner, cl.

Repeat R6 till the length and breadth are equal to the diameter of the cushion for which we are making this cover.

We made 16.5".

Last round: sc1 in each st, sc4 in ch3-sp.

Make a chord by taking 3 threads at a times and making chs for 17"-18".

Now place on cushion and fold ss shown, pass the chord through sc4-gaps to make a knot.

Then sew from corner till five 3dc-groups. Sew half part of all the four sides.

The beautiful cushion cover is ready.

Make 2 tassels and sew them at corner as shown in the first photo.
