Crochet Diya Holder, Lotus Aasan for Idol, Beautiful Hanging Showpiece, Festival Decoration

 

Hello friends,

This hanging Lotus Diya Cover or Latkan or Showpiece I specially made for Diwali Christmas type Festivals. I made separate petals and just join them by glue Gun so it becomes very simple. It looks so beautiful hence I know that you are so eager to make it. We also need one card board piece, some beads for making Latkan and Hanging Mala for this showpiece. The Latkan one I attached at bottom is ready made.

PATTERN: PETAL: Make chs 12.

R1: from second ch make, sc1, hdc1, dc2, (dc2) 2 times, dc1, hdc2, sc1,

 in last ch make (sc1, ch1, sc1)  place marker in ch1-sp,

 then on other side also sc1, hdc2, dc1, (dc2) 2 times, dc2, hdc1, sc1, sl st in last st on opposite side.

R2: ch1, sc1 in each st till marker (13 scs), at marker make (sc1, ch1-picot, sc1), on other side also sc1 in 13 sts. (DON'T CLOSE with opposite side's st, keep bottom flat)

Make such 20-25 petals (as dense as you want). I made only 17 petals.

Now with Green yarn make.

R1: dc 12 in magic loop, cl (12). Note that our first dc will be always ch3.

R2: (dc2) in each st, cl (24)

R3: [dc1 in 1 st, (dc2) in next] 12 times, cl (36)

R4: [dc1 in 2 sts, (dc2) in next] 12 times, cl (48)

R5: [dc1 in 3 sts, (dc2) in next] 12 times, cl (60) BO. Make two pieces.

Then cut a card board of same measure as green round. Place it in between two green rounds and sew by tapestry needle.

Now with Yellow yarn and make middle piece.

R1: in a magic loop, ch1, sc6, cl (6)

R2: ch1, sc2 in each st, cl (12)

R3: ch1, [sc1 in 1 st, (sc2) in next] 6 times, cl (18)

R4: ch1, [sc1 in 2 sts, (sc2) in next] 6 times, cl (24)

R5: ch1, [sc1 in 3 sts, (sc2) in next] 6 times, cl (30)

R6: ch1, [sc1 in 4 sts, (sc2) in next] 6 times, cl (36)

Place the petals from outer round to inner then yellow round on them.

Then glue purple petals as shown in 2 or 3 rounds (as much as petals you had made). Lastly glue Yellow round piece at the centre. From back side it will look as in second picture.

The beautiful show piece is ready. Place Diya at centre.

Make or get ready made Malas and attach them to our lotus. It is ready to hang. Also attach aLatkan at the bottom. It will look wonderful as,
