Crochet Baby Jacket for 9 to 12 Months Baby, Crochet Heart Stitch

 

Hi,

Here I made a bay jacket for 9 to 12 months baby. It's pattern is beautiful in Heart Stitch. It's height is 12" width 10" and weight 100 gm.

PATTERN: Make chains with length 21". So I have to made 91 chs. Number of chains should be in multiple of 6 plus 1. (For bigger or smaller size you can make any number of chains). Make 91+2 chs.

R1: From 4th ch make dc1 in each ch (91)

R2: ch3, (fpdc1, bpdc1) rep till end

R3: (Fpdc on bpdc of R2, bpdc on fpdc of R2) rep till end 

R4: same as R3.

R5: dc1 in each st. Make a knot but don't BO. Join red yarn at 4th st as to work on Right Side.

R6: (dc4) in 4th st, ch1, [skip 5 sts, (dc4) in next, ch1] rep till end al last skip 2 sts, dc1 in last st. BO. We get 15 groups of dc4.

R7: with pink yarn, [dc1 on first st (means ch3) join with first red dc by sl st, ch2, sc1 in the middle gap between 4dcs, ch2, dc1 in the middle pink st (out of 5 pink sts left in R6)including red ch1-space] rep 15 times, lastly dc 1 in last st of R5. (You may join last red dc for support).

R8: ch3 turn, [dc2 in ch2-sp, dc1 on sc-st, dc2 in ch2-sp, dc 1 on dc-st] rep till end, make knot but don't cut pink yarn.

Join red yarn at the third stitch means on dc-st made on sc-st. Repeat R6, R7  and R8 till the height is 7".

Then divide 91 sts as follows,

91= 19 (front) +6 (armhole) +41 (back) +6 (other armhole) +19 (other front part). Place markers in between dcs, to skip 6 sts for armhole on both sides.

Here after we shall work only pink double crochets rows separately for both fronts and back part. So start with the same yarn,

R1: dc1 in 19 sts

R2: dc1 in 17 sts, 2dctog atlast (18)

NOTE: For V-shaped neck decrease 1 st in alternate rows only on buttonband side and not on armhole side (it will go straight).

R3: dc1 in 18 sts

R4: dc1 in 16 sts, 2dctog (17)

and so on till there are 13 stitches on shoulder. Then BO. After 12 rows I got 13 stitches and it's length is 5".

Similarly work other front part only take care that it if you have started first front from WS then start this also from WS or vice varsa. 

Then join yarn at first st on back side.

R1: dc1 in each of the 41 sts

R2: same as R1

Repeat till number of rows on front and back sides will be same.

Then sew shoulders by single crochets in both strands of stitches on both both sides from wrong side.

Then make button band, button hole band and neck band together. Join pink yarn at first stitch of button band. Here we don't have stitches, we have dc-rows, so make 2dcs in each dc-row as usual.

R1: dc2 in each dc-row along button band, dc1 in each sc-row, also dc1on neck side back, 

R2: ch3, (fpdc1, bpdc1) rep till end

R3: (fpdc on bpdc of R2 aand bpdc on fpdc of R2) rep till end.

Then for armhole band, join pink yarn at the middle underarm stitch. Same band but only here we work in round.

R1: dc2 in each dc-row, close by sl st.

R2: (fpdc 1, bpdc 1) rep till end, cl.

R3: (fpdc on fpdc, bpdc on bpdc) rep till end, cl, BO.

Similarly make band for other armhole.

The beautiful baby jacket as in first photo is ready.
