Alka and Arts: Crochet Design to Decorate Candle Stand, Candle Decorator, Samai Rangoli

How are you all? Busy in the preparation for Christmas and New Year, Right? Here is one beautiful crochet design which will help you to decorate for the festival in a unique way.

You can also use it as Samai rangoli or Meherap (plate decor) of just to decorate your hall in a special way. The amazing part of this is, I made it in pieces and you can join them or customize them as you wish, may be with 2 or 3 flowers, may be in a straight line or circular or oval shape or what ever shape and size you want. I made this with 3.5 mm hook so width of the flower is 8" and each leaf is 4" but you can use smaller one by using 1.75mm or 1mm hook. I made one with 1.5 mm hook and it comes to be 5" and leaves I made with 13 chs only so they are 2".

I am giving pattern of first one in orange color. The yarn is of Oswal Micro shine and hook 3.5 mm.

PATTERN: Make chs 12.

R1: sc1 in each ch starting from second (11), ch2, then on other side make sc1 in 9 sts, ch1 TURN.

R2: sc1 in back loop of 9 sts, sc 1 in back loop of one ch (out of 2 chs made at corner), (thus 10 scs) ch2, sc1 in back loop of other chain, sc1 in back loop of 9 sts, (total 10 scs after new ch2 made) ch1, TURN

(One corner made on both sides, top edge is already there)

R3: sc1 in back loop of 10 sc sts, sc1 in first ch, (total 11scs before ch2), ch2, sc1 in second ch, sc1 in BL of 8 sc-sts, skip last 2 sts (total 9 scs after ch2), ch1 TURN

R4: sc1 in back loop of 9 sc sts, sc1 in first ch, (total 10scs before ch2), ch2, sc1 in second ch, sc1 in BL of 9 sc-sts, skip last 2 sts (total 10 scs after ch2), ch1 TURN (2 corners made on both sides)

Repeat similarly to get 4 corners. Each time skip 2 sts before ch1 and turn to get new corner,

One petal made, then for second petal join 4th corner with the first petal made then complete it and BO.

Thus join 6 petals together. Note that while joining last one we have to join with fifth and first petals.

Then add one bead to each petal at third st of the side (refer video for this) and pull the yarn so that petals

For this, from back side get yarn on front at third st, (thread a bid and get the yarn again back from third st of other side of same petal then get the yarn on front from third st of next petal) rep till end. Stretch the yarn from back side to tighten it and make a knot and fix it.

LEAF: Chs 15.

R1: from second ch make sc1, hdc1, dc3, (dc2) in each of the next 2 sts, dc3, hdc2, sc2, ch1, then from other side make sc2, hdc2, dc3, (dc2) in 2 sts, dc3, hdc1, sc1, sl st in first st on opposite side.
