Crochet Sweater for 2.5 to 3 Years Kid, Crochet Cardigan (Eng Sub), Full Sleeves Jacket

Hello friends,

Winter is in it's full swing in India and hence I made one more simple sweater for 2.5 to 3 years kid. Because the temperature is constantly decreasing we don't have much time, every body wants a sweater for his / her kid quickly. So here is the pretty and simple design for kid's sweater.

It is top down type with width 12.5" height 14" and it's weight is 192 gm (170 gm Blue and 22 gm White).Yarn used is Vardhaman Millenium and hook 3.5 mm.

PATTERN: Make chs of length 16", I have to make 72 chs. Make a ring of that without twisting the stitches.

R1: dc1 in each st, cl (72) [First dc means ch3]

R2: ch3, (fpdc1, bpdc1) rep till end, cl.

R3: ch3, (fpdc on fpdc, bpdc on bpdc) rep till end, cl

R4: same as R3

Join Blue yarn at any st on first round and not in last round of meck border.

YOKE: R1: ch3, (dc3) in one st, ch1, [skip 2 sts, (dc3) in next, ch1] rep till end, cl. (24 groups of (dc3)).

Sl st till the middle dc-st (out of 3 dcs),

[Place marker at the middle dc-st out of 3 dcs in 6th group] 4 times.

R2: [V (dc1, ch2, dc1) at middle st, ch1, {(dc3) in next gap between two (dc3) groups} rep 6 times, ch1] 4 times,  cl.

(Note that we make ch1 before making V and after making V)

R3: [V on V, ch1, {(dc3) in ch1-sp of previous round, (dc3) in each gap between two (dc3) groups, (dc3) in ch1-sp before V}, ch1] 4 times, cl. (6 groups of (dc3))

R4:  [V on V, ch1, {(dc3) in ch1-sp of previous round, (dc3) in each gap between two (dc3) groups, (dc3) in ch1-sp before V}, ch1] 4 times, cl. (7 groups of (dc3))

In R5 there will be 8 groups of (dc3)

In R6 there will be 9 groups of (dc3) and so on.

Repeat rounds like this till the armhole is 4.5"-5".

I have to work 13 rounds for that.

R1:  Skipping sleeves sts join first and forth corners, dc1 in the joint,

then dc1 in next V of one part only [lastly we made one dc in last V, thus we get 3 separate dcs which will be considered as one group of (dc3)] ch1,

then continue with (dc3) in each ch1-sp till 2nd and third corners. Make dc 1 in last V, dc1 after joining 2nd and 3rd corners,

dc1 in next V, then continue with (dc3) in each ch1-sp, ch1 till end, cl.

R2: (dc3) in each ch1-sp between two groups of (dc3), considering 3 separete dcs at underarm as one group of (dc3) cl.

[We have 30 groups of (dc3) 14 on front, 14 on back and 2 newly formed at under arm]

R3: (dc3) in each gap between two groups of (dc3). In above picture it is seen that how 3dcs made at 3  different sts are considered as one group of (dc3) made in one gap.

In one round we can make dc3 in one group directly where as in next round we have to make dc1 only at starting and remaining 2dcs at the end of the round.

Repeat R3 till the height is 12.5" from top.

SLEEVES: Join yarn at underarm stitch.

R1: dc1 at joint, dc1 in V next to it, {(dc3) in ch1-sp} rep till end, dc 1 in V before joint. Thus again we get 3 dcs at underarm which we shall consider as one group of (dc3) for next round.

R2: (dc3) in each gap between two (dc3) groups, cl. (We have 15 groups of (dc3))

R3 and R4: same as R2.

For better shape we decrease one group of (dc3).

R5: at joint dc1, dc 1 in the middle dc-st of next group, (dc3) in each gap between two groups of (dc3) till end, lastly dc 1 in the middle dc-st of last group of (dc3).

These 3 dcs made separately will be considered as one group of (dc3)

So after R5 we have 14 groups of (dc3).

R6, R7 and R8: (dc3) in each gap between two (dc3) groups

R9: Again reduce one group of (dc3). (Total 13 groups).

Work 25 rounds from the neckline.

Border for Sleeve: Join white yarn at any stitch.

R1: dc1 in each st, cl (39 sts since we have 13 groups of dc3)

R2: ch3, (fpdc1, bpdc1) rep till end, cl.

R3: ch3, (fpdc on fpdc, bpdc on bpdc) rep till end, cl

R4 and R5: same as R3.

Similarly complete another sleeve.

Also make similar border for bottom. There will be 90 sts for bottom.

The following video with English subtitles may help you.

ETC: Enjoy the Creativity.
