Hello friends,
Here is my new creation for Chaitra Gauri. It is very rightly said that Indian culture is full of festivals. Chaitra is the first month in Lunar Hindu calender. The first day of Chaitra is celebrated as Gudi-Padawa. Godess Parvati (wife of Lord Shiva) is worshipped for the whole month. She is symbol of Shakti (Power) and also known as Gauri. So this month is for the worship of Chaitra Gauri.
The decoration is made, the Gauri idol is placed and worshipped. Daily food is served to her and this is the Meherap (plate decor) for that.
You can also use this as Lace for ladies / girls top. It is very simple but most beautiful Meherap
Pattern:
I used 4Ply yarn and 3.5 mm hook. It's Length is 36" width 3" and weight 51 gm
R1: Ch3, dc 1 in first ch, (ch3, dc1 in the st just as in case of picot, see the picture below) rep till the required length.
We get loops, make sure that the number of loops is odd.
We made 65 loops, chains on one side and dcs on other.
R2: ch3, dc 3 in each loop, lastly dc 1 in last st. BO.
R3: join green yarn and work on right side. ch3+1, dc 1 on the middle dc-st, [ch1, (puff, ch2, puff) (called shell) in the middle dc-st (out of 3 dcs in each loop), ch1, dc1 on the next middle dc-st] rep till end, lastly ch1, dc 1 on the last st.
Puff: (YO insert in the st, YO get 2 long sts) 3 times, 7 sts on hook, YO pass through 6 sts, YO pass through 2 sts,
R4: ch3+1, dc 1 on the middle dc-st, [ch2, (puff, ch2, puff) in the ch2-sp of shell of the previous round, ch2, dc1 on the next middle dc-st] rep till end, lastly ch1, dc 1 on the last st.
