Beautiful Crochet Star Doily Using Solomon Knot

 

Hello friends,

Doily I have shown in the last post is for the purpose of Holi, hence very colourful. But this is on request of one of my friends for Christmas. She wanted Star doily using Solomon knot. So I made this.

For this Star doily with Solomon knot I used Vardhamaan 4 ply wool, 3.5 mm hook. It's diameter is 17” and weight 60 gm.

 

Pattern: 

R1: In a magic loop make ch1, sc8, cl.

R2: dc2 in each st, cl (First dc means ch3).

R3: (dc1, ch1) 16 times, cl.

R4: (dc 1 on dc-st, dc2 in ch1-sp) 16 times, cl. (48 sts).

R5: (dc 1 in 7 sts, ch2, skip 1 st) 6 times, cl.

R6:[ (2FPdc cluster in first 2 dc-sts, dc 1 in next 3 dc-sts, 2FPdc cluster in first 2 dc-sts), dc 3 in ch2-sp] 6 times, cl.

R7: [ skip first cluster, cluster on next cluster, dc 1 on next dc, cluster on next dc, cluster on next cluster, skip last cluster (of previous round), ch1, dc 2 on first dc-st, dc 1 on dc, dc 2 on next dc, ch1] 6 times, cl.

R8: sl st, [skip first cluster, cluster on cluster, cluster on dc, cluster on cluster, skip last cluster, ch1, dc 2 on first 2 dc-sts, dc 1 on middle dc, dc 2 on last 2 dc-sts, ch1] 6 times, cl.

R9: sl st, [ skip first cluster, cluster on middle cluster, skip last cluster, ch1, dc 2 in first 2 sts, dc 1 in 5 sts, dc2 in last 2 sts, ch1] 6 times, cl.

R10: sl st, [2dctog, dc1 in 9 sts, 2dctog, ch1, Solomon knot 2] 6 times, cl.

R11: [2dctog, dc1 in 7 sts, 2dctog, ch1, Solomon knot 2, join by sc with open knot, Solomon knot 2] 6 times, cl.

R12: [2dctog, dc1 in 5 sts, 2dctog, ch1, (Solomon knot 2, join by sc with open knot) 2 times, Solomon knot 2] 6 times, cl.

R13: [2dctog, dc1 in 3 sts, 2dctog, ch1, (Solomon knot 2, join by sc with open knot) 3 times, Solomon knot 2] 6 times, cl.

R14: [2dctog, dc1 in 1 sts, 2dctog, ch1, (Solomon knot 2, join by sc with open knot) 4 times, Solomon knot 2] 6 times, cl.

R15: [3dctog, ch1, (Solomon knot 2, join by sc with open knot) 5 times, Solomon knot 2] 6 times, cl.

R16: Long st and join by sc in next open knot, (SK 1 ch3, dc1, ch3, sc1 on sc-st, SK 1, join at open knot) repeat till end, cl.
