Aarti Round Plate for Ganesh Pujan:
Fig 1

In India there is tradition of offering Aarti after every Puja or worship of God. It is a song sung in praising God with light of ghee or camphor. Aarti is offered not only to God but for the vehicle, or new thing purchased.  The purpose behind it is that it should have long life and good performance.

Aarti is offered to God with full dedication. Actually meaning of the word aarti is complete love. The purpose behind offering aarti is to show deep respect and immence love about God.

Fig 3

For aarti a plate is hold in both hand and in the plate there are flowers, campour or lamp with wick (made of cotton see fig 2)they are soaked in ghee (butter) see fig 3. Kumkum and Haladi (turmeric with red and yellow colours respectively) and Ghanti as a musical instrument for aarti and also clapping is there in a rhythm. The wick is lightened and the aarti plate is moved clockwise round and round.

After finishing the aarti the person holding aarti plate offers it publicly and every one turns his/ her hand around the light in the aarti plate and then take them to their forhead, supposing that they are getting the blessings of God through that light in the aarti plate.
