Alka and Arts: Crochet Bag with Wooden Beads, Drawstring Type Bag, Oti Bag, Rukhawat Item

I made this Big Bag with wooden beads and just loved it. In my city Amravati generally I don't get many craft material. But this time I went one shop, I saw these wooden beads and I bought them. Then I made this bag which can be fixed in two different ways as shown in above photo. This is big drawstring bag so can be used as Oti Bag in marriage or Engagment.

PATTERN: Height of the bag 11", breadth 15" and width of bottom 4.5". Weight 280 gm. red yarn 192 gm and 8 gm cream color yarn other is weight of 168 wooden beads. Yarn: Vardhaman Magnus

Make chs 27

R1: from second chain make sc 1 in each ch (25) till last ch. In last chain make (sc3) in that. sc1 in each of the 24 sts from other side, sc2 in first stitch, cl Thus total stitches (24+3+24+3=54)

R2: [(sc2) in 3 corner's stitches, sc1 in 24 sts] 2 times, cl (24+6+24+6=60)

R3:[at corner (sc1 in 1 st, sc2 in next) 3 times, sc1 in 24 sts] 2 times, cl (24+9+24+9= 66)

R4:[at corner (sc1 in 2 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, sc1 in 24 sts] 2 times, cl (24+12+24+12= 72)

R5:[at corner (sc1 in 3 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, sc1 in 24 sts] 2 times, cl (24+15+24+15= 78)

R6:[at corner (sc1 in 4 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, sc1 in 24 sts] 2 times, cl (24+18+24+18= 84)

R7:[at corner (sc1 in 5 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, sc1 in 24 sts] 2 times, cl (24+21+24+21= 90)

R8:[at corner (sc1 in 6 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, sc1 in 24 sts] 2 times, cl (24+24+24+24= 96)

Next round: ch3, back post dc on each dc, cl (96)

R2: [dc1 in 3 sts, thread a bead] 24 times, cl. First dc is always ch3. Threading bead: YO, pass a bead

insert hook in next st, YO get 1 st. There are 3sts and 1 bead on the hook,

YO pass through 1 st and 1 bead, now we have only 3 sts on the hook, YO pass through all the remaining 3 sts.

R3: dc1 in each st, cl (96).

R4: in this round you can hace beads in the same place as in R2 or you can thread bead at the place of middle dc (out of 3dcs). I am goin to thread bead in the same row (one over other).

Repeat R2 and R3 till there are 7 rows of beads. Here it's height is 8.5".

Next 6 rounds are worked without beads as , dc1 in each st, cl (96).

Now fold it and place markers making 2 parts each of 48 sts.

BELT or Cord: Ch 3, inset ch in second ch, YO get 1 st, insert hook in first ch, YO get 1 st. Thus there are 3 sts on hook. Keep only 1 st and get 2 sts out of hook but hold them by finger tightly, insert hook in second st, YO get one st, insert hook in third st (which is out of hook) YO get 1 st. Thus again there are 3 sts on hook.Repeat this till the required length of belt. I made 40" belt.

Now in third round from top and from left edge skip 18 sts and insert belt from inside to outside with small end. Then skip 6 dcs on left and get other end of belt from inside to outside, this is bigger part of belt. Here after we move this end only. Skip 8 dcs insert belt from outside to inside, Skip 6 dcs insert belt end from inside to outside, Skip 8 dcs insert belt from outside to inside, Skip 6 dcs insert from inside to outside. Then skip 14 sts, insert belt from outside to inside, skip 6 get belt from inside to outside. Skip 8 dcs get belt from outside to inside. Again skip 6 dcs get belt from insode to outside. Skip 8 dcs get belt from outside to inside. Skip 6 dcs get belt from inside to outside. Count that dcs in between 2 ends must be here 14 as in back side.
