Hello friends,
How are you? hoping busy and creating some thing new. I have also created a new dress for 0 to 6 months baby. It really looks very cute.
Yarn: Vardhaman Millenium, hook 3.5 mm. Width 8" and height 11".
PATTERN: Make chs 46.
R1: From third ch make hdc1 in each ch (44 sts) (Don't consider ch2 as first hdc)
R2: [dc1 in 3 sts, dc2 in next st] 10 times, dc1 in last 4 sts. (54)
R3: [dc1 in 4 sts, dc2 in next st] 10 times, dc1 in last 4 sts. (64)
R4: [dc1 in 5 sts, dc2 in next st] 10 times, dc1 in last 4 sts. (74)
R5: [dc1 in 6 sts, dc2 in next st] 10 times, dc1 in last 4 sts. (84)
R6: [dc1 in 7 sts, dc2 in next st] 10 times, dc1 in last 4 sts. (94)
R7: [dc1 in 8 sts, dc2 in next st] 10 times, dc1 in last 4 sts. (104)
R8: [dc1 in 9 sts, dc2 in next st] 10 times, dc1 in last 4 sts. (114)
Then divide these stitches in 5 parts.
15 sts for one front part+ 27 sts for one sleeve+ 30 sts for back+ 27 sts for other sleeve+15 sts for other front = 114. Place markers properly.
R1: dc1 in 15 sts, ch3, skip 27 sts of sleeve, dc1 in next 30 sts, again ch3, skip 27 sts for leeve and dc 1 in last 15 sts. (60 sts and two ch3-spaces)
R2: ch3 (as first dc), skip 1 st, [(dc3) in next st, skip 2 sts] rep till ch3-sp, again skip 2 chs and (dc3) in next ch then continue like this, at last skip 1 st, dc1 in last.
R3: ch3 turn, dc1 in same st, (dc3) in each gap between two (dc3) groups, lastly dc2 in last st.
repeat these two rows. Alternately we have to make dc 1 in first and last st and then next time (dc2) in first and last st. repeat till the total length from shoulder is 11", in between you may add strips of different colors as in above picture.
Now let's see how to make border. In this we shall start from first st at neck then complete button band then bottom band and lastly button hole band then BO.
BORDER: Join yarn at first st of neck skip the dc-space distance and [make dc6, then again skip dc-space and join by sl st] rep till the button band is complete.
Now for bottom band [make dc6 in the middle st out of 3dc-sts, join by sl st at the gap between two dc] rep till other end, lastly border of button hole band as per button band. BO.
SLEEVE: Join yarn at ch2-sp at underarm.
R1: dc2 in ch2-sp, dc1 on next st (where 3dcs are made), dcs in each gap and stitches, cl (36 sts)
R2: [dc3 in next st, skip 2 sts] rep till end, cl. (12 groups of (dc3))
R3: (dc3) in each gap between two dc3 groups, cl.
R4: same as R3
Then in next round we shall decrease one group of dc3. For that we make dc1 on first gap and last gap and dc1 in the middle st (out of 3 dcs) (Please refer video for this). These 3 dcs though made in separate sts (not in one st ot one gap) (see the photo on left below) still we treat them as one group of (dc3).
R5: then work this round as R4 only treating those 3 dcs as a group. (Now we have 11 groups od (dc3)). (See photo on right below).
R6: and other rounds ahead are same as R5. You may change color of strips if you want.
Then make the border same as that of bottom of main body of the sweater.
Similarly complete other sleeve.
Sew buttons on button band.
The beautiful baby sweater is ready.
The following video with English subtitles may help you.
ETC: Enjoy the Creativity.
