Crochet Samai Rangoli 3: Handmade Home Decor

 

Hello friends, 

Hope that you are liking these Samai Rangolis in the series. This is the third design I made.

It's inner diameter is 3.7": and outer 14". Weight 55 gm.

Yarn 4 ply yarn and 3.5 mm hook

With colour 1 make ring of ch 60. (chs should be in multiple of 6)

R1: ch1, sc1 in each ch, cl

R2: ch1, sc4, [ch29, sc1 in 4^th ch from starting, ch3, skip 2 sts on R1 and join by sc in third st, sc3] rep till end, cl.

R3:[ dc1 on each sc-st (4), dc1 on each st (3), dc1 at joint sc-st (1), dc1 in each of the 12 chs (12), (dc2, ch2, dc2) (shell) in next ch, dc1 in next 12 chs  (12), dc1 at joint sc-st (1), dc1 on 3 chs (3)] rep 10 times, cl. (First dc means ch3)

(In this round we have 40 dcs in between two ch2-spaces of shell.)

R4: Join second colour and work as, dc on each dc-st, shell in ch2-sp of shell of previous round.

R5: same as R4

R6: Take colour 1 again and work same as R4.

Now fold each petal as shown in the video, insert two fingers as shown,

Insert point A inside gap B from back side,

Also take two side belts from back to front as in video.

 Join 10 dc-st on each petal by marker Join white yarn at this marker .

R7: Join white yarn. Make sc1 at this joint-st, [sc 1 in 8 sts, ch3-picot, sc1 in 1 st, then in ch2-sp of shell work, (sc2, ch4-picot, sc2), sc1 in next, ch3-picot, sc 8, join 10^th st of two consecutive petals] rep till end, cl.

Finally it will look as,

If you want to make doily with this design then start with 15 dcs in a magic loop.

R2: dc2 in each st.

R3: (dc1 in 2 sts, dc2 in next) 15 times, cl.

R4: (dc1 in 3 sts, dc2 in next) 15 times, cl 

Then there will be 60 sts so that we can start as above, we get,
