Crochet Toran with Flowers and Beads for Gudhi-Padawa

Hi friends,

This TORAN (Door hanging / Door decor) actually I made at the time of Diwali but remains to write pattern here. But no problem, as I said in my last post that there are so many festival reasons in India, so here is Gudhi Padawa (Lunar New Year Day).

I used 400 pearls of 6 mm , Bells 9, Vardhamaan yarn 120 gm (Orange+ Green + White) and crochet hook 3.5 mm.Its length is 41" and width 10.5".

Flower: With Orange yarn make a ring of ch10.

R1:( tr1, ch2) 12 times, cl.

First tr means ch4.

R2: ch4, (puff in ch2-sp, ch5) rep 12 times, cl

Puff means (YO insert in ch2-sp, YO get 2 long sts) 6 times, there are 13 sts on hook, YO pass through 12 sts, YO pass through 2 sts.

R3: With green, [(sc1, hdc1, dc 3, hdc1, sc 1) all in ch5-sp] 12 times, cl.

Make such 9 flowers.

Toran patti:

R1: With orange, Ch12, dc3 in 7th ch, ch2, dc 3 in same ch, dc on last ch,

[ch3 turn, (dc3, ch2, dc 3) in ch2-sp, dc on the st next to shell in previous row] repeat till the required length ( we make 36”).

R2: With Green, dc3 in each gap between two shells, at corner (dc3, ch2, dc 3), dc 3 in ch2-sp, again (dc 3, ch2, dc 3) in second corner, dc3 in each gap on other side, (dc 3, ch2, dc 3) at corner, dc 3 in the ch where first shell is made, (dc3, ch2, dc 3) at corner, cl.

R3: With white and three sides same as R2 on lower side join flowers as said, after corner, dc 3 in next 2 gaps,[ join one petal of flower, dc 3 in next gap, join adjacent petal, dc 3 in 6 gaps] rep for 9 flowers, continue as R2.

Join 20 beads, 1 Bell, 20 beads around each flowerJoin one more petal of flower by bead as shown.

Beautiful Toran as in picture one is ready. Happy Gudhi Padawa in advance.

I hope the following video with English subtitles may help you.

ETC: Enjoy the Creativity.
