Crochet Vegetable Basket Part 7: Tomato
Tomato one of the
R1: In a magic loop make ch1, sc6, cl the loop but don’t close by sl st, work in spiral.
R2: sc2 in each st, (12 sts)
R3: (sc1 in one st, sc2 in next) 6 times, (18 sts)
R4: (sc1 in 2 st, sc2 in next) 6 times, (24 sts)
R5: (sc1 in 3 st, sc2 in next) 6 times, (30 sts)
R6: (sc1 in 4 st, sc2 in next) 6 times, (36 sts)
R7 to R15: sc 1 in each st.
R16: (sc 1 in 4 sts, 2 sctog next) 6 times, (30 sts)
R17: (sc 1 in 3 sts, 2 sctog next) 6 times, (24 sts)
R18: (sc 1 in 2 sts, 2 sctog next) 6 times, (18 sts)
R19: (sc 1 in 1 sts, 2 sctog next) 6 times, (12 sts)
Stuff inside.
R20: 2sctog throughout. (6 sts)
Pedicel: Stem: with green, ch7,
R1: sl st in third ch, sc 1 in next 3 chs,
In last ch make sc6 and join by sl st in first sc.
R2: ch1, sc 2 in each st, (12 sts)
Sepal: (ch6, sl st in third ch, sc1 in remaining 3 chs, join by sl st in next, sl st in next) 6 times.
Now sew this to the top of the tomato by tapestry needle.
