Crochet Gift Item Part 3: Water Pond for Swan Pair Home Decor:

Hello friends, The last part of our show-piece means how I made that water pond for the swan and assemble the parts. I used blue, white dark blue (nevy blue) Water Pond Pattern: Start with chs 35 which makes 7" length or as much as you need for 7". R1: +ch3, dc4 in 4th ch, dc 1 in each st till the last st, dc7 in the last st, dc 1 in each from other side, dc 3 in last st, cl. Place markers at both end of 7 sts at both corners, cl.

R2: dc 2 in each of the 7 sts in between markers on both ends (14 sts in between markers), dc 1 in the remaining sts, cl.

R3: (dc2, dc1) 7 times on both corners in between markers (21 sts in between two marker on both sides), dc1 in each of the 33 sts in between on both sides, cl.

R4: Make (dc1 in 2 sts, dc2 in next) 7 times at both corners (28 sts in between markers on both sides), dc1 in each of the 33 sts on both sides, cl.

R5: (dc1 in 3 sts, dc2 in next) 7 times on both corner side (35 sts on both corners), dc 1 in each st in between on both sides. Cl.

R6: (dc1 in 4 sts, dc 2 in next) 7 times on both corners (42 sts on each corner), dc1 in first and last 5 sts out of 33 and tr1 in each of the 23 sts remained in between on both sides.

Then work out the same border as we have worked around the big heart ( please see my previous post) with white and nevy blue colour. I always feel that our crochet work should be realistic as much as we can make it. Hence then I crocheted waves in incomplete rounds by white yarn, making just ch3 and joining ahead by sc1 in a shape we wanted.

Glue this on a cardboard. Assembling the parts: Sew the swan properly on this pond or use big drawing pins to fix them on pond. Also gluw the heart on back side. The beautiful show piece is ready.
