Crochet Gift Item Part 2: Big Heart / Wall Hanging for Home Decor on Valentine Day

Hello friends, I think that you like the show piece which I have posted on new years eve. In this post I will give the pattern of the big heart I made. You can also make only this heart and make a hook at centre, so that it will be your wall hanging especially on Valentine Day as in next fig. Width of this heart is 10" and height 10.5".

Pattern of the flowers attached on right side to decorate the heart, is already given in my post on 13th Sep 2020. with link, Also the green leaves and stem like part was also made and explained in my post on 26th Jan 2020 of plate decor with link, So here I will give the remaining pattern. Heart Pattern: R1: In a magic loop, make ch3, tr3, dc 4, tr1, at this central st place marker, dc4, tr3, ch3, cl.

R2: sc2 in ch3-sp, (dc3) in each of the next 3 sts, dc1 in each of the next 3 sts, (dc2) in next, (dc1, tr1, dc1) in central st, place marker at tr st, (dc2) in next, dc 1 in 3 sts, (dc3) in each of the next 3 sts, sc2 in ch3-sp, cl.

R3: skip 1 st, sc1 in 2 sts, (dc2) in each of the next 8 sts, dc 1 in each of the next 6 sts, (ch1, tr1, ch1) in centrel st, dc 1 in 6 sts, (dc2) in 8 sts, sc 1 in 2 sts, join at centre.

R4: skip 1 st, sl st in 2 sts, sc1 in 2 sts, hdc 1 in 5 sts, dc1 in 2 sts, (dc3) in each of the next 2 sts, (dc2) in next 2 sts, dc 1 in 10 sts, tr 1 at central st, dc 1 in 10 sts, (dc2) in next 2 sts, (dc3) in next 2 sts, dc 1 in 2 sts, hdc 1 in 5 sts, sc 1 in 2 sts, sl st 2, cl.

R5: skip 1 st, sl st in 2 sts, sc1 in 2 sts, hdc 1 in 2 sts, dc1 in 2 sts, (dc2) in 2 sts, [tr1 in next, (tr2) in next] 9 times, (tr1, db tr1, tr1) at central st, [(tr2) in next, tr1 in next] 9 times, (dc2) in 2 sts, dc1 in 2 sts, hdc 1 in 2 sts, sc1 in 2 sts, sl st 2, cl.

R6: sc 1 in 3 sts, hdc 1 in 3 sts, dc1 in 3 sts, [tr1 in next, (tr2) in next] 12 times, tr1 in 5 sts, (tr1, db tr1, tr1) in central st, tr1 in 5 sts, [(tr2) in next, tr1 in next] 12 times, dc1 in 3 sts, hdc 1 in 3 sts, sc1 in 3 sts, cl.

R7: sl st in 3 sts, sc 1 in 3 sts, hdc 1 in each st till central st, dc1 there, hdc 1 in each st till la4 sts remain, sc 1 in 3, skip last st, cl.

Border: Join red yarn at marker's place, ch3, skip 1 st, join by sc1 in next, remove hook from the loop, join white yarn at the next st which is skipped, keep red yarn loop in front, make ch3 and [join by sc 1 in the next st where red is joint, remove hook from white yarn, insert it in the red loop, make ch3, join by sc 1 in the next st where white is joint, remove hook from red loop and insert in white loop, make ch3] repeat this till the whole border around the heart is done.

Cut the card board of the same size, Glue the crochet heart on this. Make two flowers and some leaves with stem, the links given above. Glue them where you like to. Lastly if you are making only this as wall hanging then make 15 chs loop and sew it to the upper centre, before you fix it to card board. The beautiful show-piece is here.
