Crochet Purse 13 with Embroidery

Embroidery Purse for Beginners
Fig 1
Hi,
Yesterday I make a very simple crochet purse just for beginners. Some of my Kalopasak friends who just started crocheting had requested to make some simple gift for Sankranti. Hence I made this because most of them know embroidery stitches and they can use that skill here in crocheting. It looks very beautiful (though my embroidery is not very super here).

The special thing about this purse is it is simply made in a single crochet stitch. Though I have made border in half double crochet but beginners can make the border of single crochet also.

Pattern: Make chains whose length becomes 8".
R1: One ch extra and then single crochet (sc) in each ch starting from second ch. Ch 1 turn, here I have to make 36 chs for 8". See fig 2.
R2: sc 1 in each stitch. (36 sts), ch 1 turn, fig 3.
Repeat row 2 till the height becomes 9" (double of the required height of the purse). Fig 4.

Then we are going to fold it as shown in fig 5 and sew the sides. But before that we have to work out some embroidery design on that (as per your choice). Use left over yarns for this as in fig 6.
Then sew the sides and make border of half double crochet (hdc) in each st as in fig 7. Lastly make small 7 chs, show piece (leaf) and then 7 chs again. Attach this to the runner of the zip sewed to the lining of the purse. Oh! that beautiful purse in fig 1 is ready!!

You can use it as a gift to your friends or some one. Particularly in these Sankranti days this is very useful. So just start and make it.

Hope that this video may help you.

ETC: Enjoy the Creativity.
