Crochet Purse 14 with Ribbed Stitch

Crochet Rib Stitch Purse
Fig 1
Hi,
Friends, I made this rib stitch bag which is very easy and looks cute. As I have written in my previous post,
https://alkaandart.blogspot.com/search?q=small+purse+sankranti+gift
that Sankranti is a special festival and some gifts are given by married woman to other married women, which is called "vaan". Originally the tradition was to give very small things to number of married women but now a days many ladies give vaan to 5 or 11 ladies only. These bags I have designed very small for that purpose that is to give to your 5 friends or 11 friends. This Rib stitch bag is one of them.

Fig 3
I have Red Heart soft yarn which is left over yarn from sweater so I used it for this purse. Also I used 3.5 mm crochet hook.
Size: 8" x 4.5".
Pattern:
R1: ch 1 and 5 single crochet (sc) in a magic loop , partially close loop as in fig 2. (5sts). ch 1 turn,
Here onward work all stitches in back loop.

R2: sc 2 in first and second st, sc 1, ch 1, sc 1 in middle st, sc 2 in each of the last 2 sts, (10 sts, ch 1gap), ch 1 turn. Place marker at ch 1-gap. Fig 3.
R3: sc 2 in first st, sc 1 in each st till marker, (sc 1, ch 1, sc 1) all in ch 1 gap, sc 1 in each of the next sts till the last st, sc 2 in last st, ch 1 turn, (14 sts, 1 ch1-gap). Fig 4.
R4 same as R3, (18 sts) fig 5, 6.
Fig 7
In each row 4 sts increases.

All other rounds same as R3 till the length of bigger side measures 7.5", see fig 7.

Next we have to increase the sts so that the further shape is rectangular as shown in fig 8.

Next row: Skip last st of last row (don't make sc 2 in that st), ch 1 turn, skip again one st and then sc 1 in each of the remaining sts till marker, at marker (sc1, ch 1, sc1) in ch 1-space, sc 1 in each of the remaining sts, skipping last st (don't make sc 2 in last st, as in previous rows), ch 1 turn.

Fig 10
Next row: skip first st (after turning), sc 1 in each st till marker, (sc1, ch 1, sc1) in ch 1-space, sc 1 in each of the remaining sts, skip last st, ch 1 turn. It will look as in fig 9.
Repeat this row till the length of the rectangular part is 9". See fig 10.

Fig 11
Next we make border to all three sides of rectangle.
Border: sc 1 in lower part slip st at upper part, repeat till end.
See fig 11.

Bind off when all the three sides done. Fig 12.

Fold the rectagular part as in fig 13 so that wrong side is on the outer part. Sew two sides by tapestry needle.

Fig 13
Turn right side out. Sew one beautiful show button in the middle as shown in fig 1 and have a beautiful belt, either of crochet dcs or by beads as I have done.

The bag / purse / pouch is ready to gift. Oh!! it's too beautiful to give!!
No problem make another one for your friend.
