Knitted Baby Dress 17

Baby Dress Completed
Fig 1
Hello friends,

Finally the yoke type sweater mentioned in my last post is completed. It looks so beautiful!! (Fig 1) that the cute grand daughter will look gorgeous in this.

I started with 74 sts, leave 6 sts for button band and buttonhole band. The design I have selected for the increase strips is very simple but beautiful. See fig 2.

Started with 74 sts then 6 rows in Garter stitch as a neck band.

As I wished that the designed strips should appear more in the front portion so I divided the sts as,
74= 6 button band + 4 front + 6 design+ 5 sleeve + 6 design + 20 back+ 6 design+ 5 sleeve+ 6 design + 4 other front + 6 button hole band. Put markers.

Fig 3

For increase, take yarn over before and after each marker
For the design, fig 3,  (describe about 6 sts left for design only) all other sts as for Stockinette stitch,
R 1: YO, K 1, P 1, K 2, P 1, K 1, YO
R 2: All P
R 3: YO, K1, P1, K1, YO, K1, P1, K1, YO,
R 4: All P
R 5: YO, K1, P1, Slip 1, K2, Pass the slip st over these knitted 2 sts, P1, K1, YO,
R 6: All P

After 8 times increase the total sts became 202. See fig 2. Four rows are worked as all K.

Then out of 202 sts 39 + 39 are kept for two sleeves and they are bind off. The remaining 124 sts are worked together. Here 10 sts are increased uniformly. ( But later I thought that I should increase more sts for better shape).

After the total height for neck band is 12 inches 8 rows of Garter st are worked.

Then all sts are bind off. Buttons are sewed at proper places and the result is as in fig 1.

ETC: Enjoy the Creativity.
