Crochet Birds

Friends,
I knitted some bird with some modification in the original pattern. But now I design my own crochet bird and made some of them.


For close up see fig 1A and 1B.

With foundation ch of 24 
R 1: sc on each ch starting from second ch (23 sts). Ch 1 turn,
R2: sc 1 in first st, sc2 in next, sc 1 in next 7sts, 2sctog, sc1 (centre), 2sctog, sc 1 in next 7 sts,, 2 sc in next st, sc 1 in last st. (23 sts)

Repeat R 1 and R 2 two more times. Fig 3

R 7 to R 9: sc 1 in each st. (23 sts).  ch 1 turn. See fig 4

R 10: sc 1 in each of next 9 sts, sc 2 in next, sc1 in each of next 3 sts, sc 2 in next, sc 1 in each of next 9 sts, ch 1 turn. (25 sts). Fig 5.

R11: sc 1 in each of next 10 sts, sc 2 in next, sc1 in each of next 3 sts, sc 2 in next, sc 1 in each of next 10 sts, ch 1 turn. (27 sts).

 R12: sc 1 in each of next 11 sts, sc 2 in next, sc1 in each of next 3 sts, sc 2 in next, sc 1 in each of next 11 sts, ch 1 turn. (29 sts).

R 13: Sc 1, (sc 1, 2sc tog) 3 times, sc2 in next st, sc 1 in each of next 3 sts, sc 2 in next st, (2sc tog, sc 1) 3 times, sc1 in last st.( 25 sts)

R 14: sc 1 in each of next 10 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc 1 in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc 1 in each of next 10 sts (27 sts)

R 15: Sc 1, (sc 1, 2sc tog) 3 times, sc 1 in each of next 7 sts, (2sc tog, sc 1) 3 times, sc 1 in last st. (21 sts)

R 16: Slip st in next 4 sts, ch 1, sc 1 in each of next 17 sts. (17 sts)

R 17: Sl St 4, ch 1, sc 1 in each of next 13 sts. ( 13 sts) Fig 6.

R 18: Sc 1 in each st

R 19: sc 1, 2sc tog 6 times. (7 sts)

Thread all 7 sts and pull the yarn. Fig 7

Sew the bottom part as shown in fig 8 and 9.

Fill nylon fibre as in fig 10. Now sew the remaining portion also, the bird will look as in fig 11.

Wing: Start with ch 4,
R 1: sc 1 on each st from second (3 sts), ch 1 turn AFTER EVERY ROW
R 2: 2 sc in first st, sc 1 in remaining (4 sts)
R 3:  sc 1 on each st from second (4 sts)
R 4: 2 sc in first st, sc 1 in remaining (5 sts)


R 5:  sc 1 on each st from second (5 sts), R 6: 2 sc in first st, sc 1 in remaining (6 sts)
R 7: sc 1 on each st from second (6 sts),  R8: 2sc tog, sc 1 on remaining 4 sts (5 sts)
R 9: sc 1 on each st from second (5 sts),  R10: 2sc tog, sc 1 on remaining 3 sts (4 sts)
R11:  sc 1 on each st from second (4 sts),  R12: 2sc tog, sc 1 on remaining 2 sts (3 sts)
R 13: sc 1 on each of 3 sts, R 14: 2sc tog, sc 1
R 15: 2sc tog. BO.
Make one more wing in the same manner.
Sew the wings as in fig 12

 Add beads as the eyes as shown in fig 13 and then work it's beak by wrapping the yarn around the needle 14 times. Then for lower part wrap 11 times. Fig 14
