This is the second garland I made for Ganeshji. It looks like buds garland.
If you want you can make it for any frame in your family room. (Generally in family room of Indian houses there are photo frames of late grand father or great grand father). We can make it in round but I think it will be difficult for my subscribers, so to make it easy, I worked it in a straight line and then wrap in round.

I used Vardhamaan 4 ply yarn and 2.5 mm crochet hook. Pattern: Make chs of length 40".
R1: ch1, sc 1 in 3 chs, join white yarn. Fig 1. Bud: ch3, dc 5 in st of third sc. Remove hook from the st, see fig 3, insert it in the third ch (out of ch3 initially made) then pass it through a st which is left, YO and pass a st through both sts. The bud will look from top as in fig 5.

then ch 2 insert the hook at the base st, from back to front, as in fig 6, YO make a sl st and fix it. Fig 7. Then get a green yarn through it, make sc 1 in 3 sts in next 3 chs, carrying the white yarn forward.
Again keep green yarn on back side and with white yarn make bud.

Repeat this for all 200 chs. See fig 8.
Then thread green yarn and pass through the green sc part and bring the buds close in round as in fig 9.
Make two such pieces, join as in fig 10.
Lastly make chains chord with double strand and tie it as in fig 10.

R2: sl st in last loop, ch3 (as dc), [(puff1, hdc 3 in the
gap between dc and puff) 5 times, dc 1 in same loop, dc 1 in next loop] rep for
all loops.
Puff means (YO insert into hook, YO get 2 long sts) 4 times,
YO pass through 8 sts, YO pass through2sts.
R3: In the last loop make 5 puffs more (total 10 puffs in
the last loop), dc 1 in same loop, dc 1 in next loop, [(puff1, hdc 3 in the gap
between dc and puff) 5 times, dc 1 in same loop, dc 1 in next loop] rep till
end, join by sl st.
Belt: ( ch3, dc 1 in first ch) rep till the required length.
Lastly make a puff.
Make another part of belt similarly.
Join yarn at the centre st of central flower, ch7, tr 1 in 4
th ch, sl stin the loop, ch3 (as dc), [(puff1, hdc 3 in the gap between
dc and puff) 5 times, join at the first
ch (out of 7 made just now, again 5 puffs on other side..
Sew beads if you want. Our garland will be as in photo 1.

Crochet Garland (Type 1) for Ganeshji:

This August month is full of festivals in India. Shravan Monday, Mangala- Gaur, Id, Rakshabandhan, Rushipanchami then Haritalika, Ganesh Chaturthi and many more. In Maharashtra Ganesh chaturthi is celebrated both personally and socially. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganesh_ChaturthiBut this year due to Corona problem Govt has not allowed Ganesh Pujan by community, personally only you can celebrate this festival.
We bring Ganeshji's idol (Fig 3) at our home decorate nearby area (fig 2) and worship it. Some worship for 3 days, some for 5 or some for complete 10 days.
Fig 2 shows the decoration around the Ganapati at our home. See also the Garland on Ganesh idol. That is made of natural flowers.
So I made this crochet garland.

Pattern:
Make ring of 16 chs with green.
Fig 4.
R1: ch 3, dc 1 in same st, [(YO, insert hook in the dc just made, get 2 long sts) 3 times.

skip one st on a ring, insert hook in next st, YO and pass the st through all 7 sts on hook, ch 1 loosely to fix it. dc 1 in next st (on a ring) fig 5 ] repeat till all sts of the ring exaust. After last st join it with the first st of ring of 16 chs. Fig 6 and 7.
R2: same as R1 with red.
R3 and R4: same as R1 by

Make two such pieces.
Join as shown in fig 1 with golden cord.

Chaitra, the first month of Lunar calender and the first day of this month is celebrated as Gudhi-Padawa. In Maharashtra the special type of flag is arranged at every house, called GUDHI. A bright colourful silk cloth is tied to a Bamboo along with Mango leaves, Neem leaves, Sweet Garland called Gathi, flower garland etc.Tthen this is capped by some silver or copper pot on which haldi kumkum etc are placed and worshipped it as in next photo.
Gudhi is the main attraction of this day. It's a symbol of Victory and Happiness. So we made this Crochet Gudhi as the best Home decoration for this month.
This year many of my subscribers requested me to make Crochet Gudhi. First I thought that there is not sufficient time to make all these accessories of Gudhi. But then I struck that three items are already made.
1. Flower Garland: I made 5-6 garlands at the time of Ganesh Utsav, some of them....
For garlands: 2nd Aug 2020, 10th Aug 2020 or 21st Sep 2021.
For Kalash: 30 Apr 2020 and
Mango leaves: 7th May 2020.
Then I thought that I can do it within time and started from Gathi.
Gathi / Gathiya: is a special sweet for Gudi padawa. It is the garland made by suger blobs. In these days market is full of such Gathiya for sell. Now a days coloured Gathyas are also available.
So I made crochet Gathi with 4 ply yarn and 3.5 mm hook. I am also pleased as all my friends liked it very much.
Pattern:
Width of each motif (padak) 1.5”
R1: In a magic loop make dc 16, cl (First dc means ch3).
Make two such pieces.
Place wrong side on wrong side and work second round.
R2: (ch1, sl st 1 in next combined st) repeat around, BO.
Make such 5 0r 7 padak.
With thread in tapestry needle sew
them as shown in the video.
If you want to make Garland then make 12 motives, Sew 11 as
above and last motif as locket.
Many of my friends made these beautiful Gathiyas with white or coloured yarn.

This is the third type of garland I made for Ganeshji. It is said that Lord Ganeshji like red colour flowers hence I made this red flowers garland. Pattern:
{Ch 12, dc1 in 4th ch from hook, ch1-picot, ch3, join at 4th ch by sl st. One petal made. See fig 2.
[ch3, dc 1 in 4th ch (where first petal is made), ch1-picot, ch3, join at 4th ch by sl st.] 4 times.
Five petals made.

Now take the working yarn in between two petals opposite to our last st and make sl st tightly so that the working yarn is now on upper side of the flower}. Repeat { to } and make 6 flowers. Make one more mala or line of 6 flowers. Join them and add middle flower.
Again make 2 such lines of six flowers and join them. One side of the garland is ready.
Similarly make one more side. Join them to make a garland as in fig 1.

Festival season about to start in India. So let's make this beautiful Garland for Ganeshji, Kanha or any idol or any frame. This is totally different Garland. Most of the garlands we made are of flowers but this is first time we are making garland on Leaf Based.
It's length is 15" + cord as long as you wish. I used 3.5 mm crochet hook for leaves and 2.5 mm for flowers (as I need small flowers). Yarn used red Heart.
PATTERN:
CORD: With green yarn make ch4, 3dc-puff in first ch, chs 50 for cord to tie the garland.
LEAF: ch 15, [form second ch make sl st1, sc1, hdc1, dc1, extended dc 1, tr3,
ext dc 1, dc1, hdc1, sc1, sl st in last ch, TURN,
get working yarn behind, from other side sc1, hdc1, dc1, ext dc1, tr3,
ext dc1, dc1, hdc1, sc1, sl st in opposite side's st]. (One leaf complete).
Ch 15 and repeat [ to ] to make second leaf (one ch remains unworked).
Go on making leaves as much as you want the length of Garland when made doubled. I made 8 leaves.
Lastly make chs 50+4. Then 3dc-puff in 4th ch from hook, BO.
Now join green yarn at the sl st of first leaf. Go on making sl sts from the middle of leaf, ch1, then repeat for next leaf. By this we get better look, as well as leaves are not twisted.
Then join the yarn at centre (4 leaves on both sides) and the make one leaf as a centre of the garland.
FLOWER: With red yarn and 2.5 mm hook. In a magic loop (make ch2, incomplete dc, YO, pass through both of them, ch1-picot by sl st, ch2, sl st in magic loop) one petal made. Repeat and make 6 petals, BO.
Where to sew the flower, is your choice. You can sew at the centre on the leaf or you can sew at the jount of two leaves. You can have bead at the centre of each flower or you can also have bead at plathe joint of leaves and flower at centre of leaf.
