Hi every one,
How are you all? In USA every where temperature goes down so if you want to make another simple socks to wear at home too. You can make these. I made it with two granny squaress, one big and other small granny. As usual first take measurement, length of foot. Here it is 9". Weight 52 gm. Yarn used Ganga Olivia and hook 3.5 mm.
For little smaller size make the same with 3 mm hook, for little bigger just use 4 mm hook.
PATTERN: R1: In a magic loop make (dc3, ch1) 4 times, cl.
R2: [(dc3, ch2, dc3) in ch1-sp, ch1] 4 times, cl.
Here after we shall not work in stitches but we work in the space between 2 dcs.
R3: dc1 in between each space between two dcs of R2, (dc2, ch1, dc2) in ch1-sp of R2] rep till end, cl.
Note that in between two shells at two corners there are 5 dcs.
R4: same as R3.
Note that here there are 8 dcs in between two shells at two corners. (as 4 dcs increased in previous round so 3 more gaps between dcs are created, hence middle dcs increased by 3).
R5: same as R3.
Note that here there are 11 dcs in between two shells at two corners.
All rounds after this are same as R3 and each time 3 dcs increases in between 2 shells at two corners.
After R6, we have 14 dcs in between 2 shells.
After R7, we have 17 dcs in between 2 shells.
After R8, we have 20 dcs in between 2 shells.
Continue in this way till the length of the diagonal is nearly 9" (length of the foot) In my case after R8, the length of diagonal is nearly 9".
Make one more granny square with the same pattern but only 4 rounds.
Then join this small granny with big granny as shown in video. Place two grannies coinciding corner to corner. Then sew one side of small granny with half side of big granny and so on....
Join dark blue yarn at corner,
R1: ch1, [sc1 in corner, sc1 in each st of one side], skip corner st (don't make sc in ch1-sp here, so as to get curved shape),[sc1 in corner, sc1 in each st of one side]2 times, cl
Toe side part is made, now we will have to increase back side of foot or hill side part.
Now there are 24 sts in between two ch1-spaces, so skip 10 sts and join new yarn at next st.
R1: Sl st in same st, sc1 next, dc1 in each of the next 12 sts, dc1 in ch1-sp, again dc1 in next 12 sts, dc1 in ch1-sp, lastly sc1 in next st, sl st in last st. Here we work in stitches and not in gaps.
R2: sl st in sc-st, dc1 in each of the 25 sts, lastly sl st on sc-st
R3: ch1 turn, dc1 in each of the 25 sts, sc1 in each st on toe side 10-11 sts on both sides, cl.
R4: ch4, (skip 1 st, dc1 in next, ch1) rep till hill side's 25 sts, then with dark blue yarn make sc1 in each of the 22 sts on toe side, cl.
Border: with dark blue yarn make sc 1 in each st, sc1 in each ch1-sp, cl.
Lastly make a cord nearly 20-21 inches with double thread and pass it through the windows formed in R4. You can tie this cord for better fitting.
The best socks are ready.
The following video with English subtitles may help you.
