This one is my second basket I made for Thread ceremony of my grandson. Here I avoide to use plastic basket but then it becomes very loose. Feeling by grain and pouring in the bag of boy, it looses it's shape and hence it doen't look good. But again if I knew the idea of getting starch by REVIVE then this problem can be avoided. Any way but the basket comes out to be very very beautiful.
Yarn: Red Heart (from USA) and hook 3.5 mm.
PATTERN: With dark purple yarn make,
R1: In a magic loop make dc 15, cl (First dc is always ch3)
R2: dc2 in each st, cl (30)
R3: [dc1 in 1 st, (dc20) in next] 15 times, cl (45)
R4: [ dc1 in 2 sts, (dc2) in next] 15 times, cl (60)
R5: dc1 in back loop of each st, cl (60)
R6: [dc1 in 9 sts, (dc2) next] 6 times, cl (66)
R7: [dc1 in 10 sts, (dc2) next] 6 times, cl (72)
R8: [dc1 in 11 sts, (dc2) next] 6 times, cl (78).
Join green yarn at any st.
R9: [ (dc1, ch2, dc1) in one st, skip 2 sts] 26 times, cl.
Join purple yarn at any ch2-sp.
R10: [7dc-popcorn in ch2-sp, at centre of popcorn make sc1, (ch3, sc1) 3 times in the same space, ch1] rep till end, cl, BO. From back side the rose buds look as in second photo here.
Now work in the front loops of R6 (which are unworked) by Zari cord.
Bottom Border: ch1, hdc1 in front loop of each st.
