Crochet Lotus Flower Aasan for ganeshji or Mahalaxmiji Type 1

 

Hello friends,

Nest week is here "Ganesh Utsav". The festival which is celebrated socially and indivisually. So at home also we bring Ganeshji idol and worship it for 10 days (it varies, in some families 1.5 days also or 3, 5, or 7 days). So I try to make a different type of Aasan (Doily for keeping Ganeshji's Idol). As I have explained earlier the importance of Swastik symbol. For more details please read,

I had also made Swastik aasan (Rectangular) and also Swastik Toran. So many of my subscribers of youtube channel requested me to make circular aasan or Doily with Swastik at cnetre and hence I made this.

PATTERN: 

With yellow yarn make chs 14+2

Row 1: Y: dc1 in each st from 4th ch (14)

R2: 2Y, 6R, 2Y, 2R, 2Y

R3: 2Y, 2R, 2Y, 2R, 6Y

R4: 2Y, 10R, 2Y

R5: 6Y, 2R, 2Y, 2R, 2Y

R6: 2Y, 2R, 2Y, 6R, 2Y (Wrong Side then right side photo)

Then along width side make 2sc in each dc-space on both sides.

Now we have to make circular shape out of this square shape.

R7: ch1, [sc1 in 2 sts, hdc 2, dc1, (dc2) in next 3 sts, dc1, hdc2, sc2, sl st at corner] 4 times, cl.

R8: ch1, hdc 1 in each st skipping corner's sl sts. So that we get 64 sts.

R9: (dc1 in 7 sts, dc2 in next) 8 times, cl (72)

R10: with pink yarn, ch1, [sc1 in 6 sts, ch7, sc 1 in each ch starting from second ch] 12 times, cl. (12 bases for petals are ready).

Next round we shall work on back side with pink yarn.

R11: (bpdc 1 in 5 sts, bpdc 2 in next)12 times, cl (84).

Because of this round of bpdc the petals will remain vertical otherwise they may lie horizontal.

R12: (dc1 in 6 sts, dc2 next) 12 times, cl (96).

                                 

R13: work same as R10.

After this round16 bases are ready for petals.

R14: Again on back side, (bpdc 1 in 7 sts, bpdc 2 in next) 12 times, cl. (108)

Join pink yarn at the middle sc-st of R10. Then work on petal base of 6 scs.

                                                     

PETALS: [dc1, (tr2) in next, dc2, hdc1, sc1, ch2-picot by sl st, then on other side, sc1, hdc1, dc2, (tr2), dc1, sl st in the middle st of base] 12 times, cl.

Then similarly complete petals on second round of 16 bases of petals.

Ofcourse without Swastik also you can make it starting with usual flat circle by double crochet. For example

R1: dc12 in magic loop, cl

R2: dc 2 in each st, cl (24)

R3: (dc1 in 1 st, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (36)

R4: (dc1 in 2 st, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (48)

R5: (dc1 in 3 st, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (60)

R6: (dc1 in 4 st, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (72)

Then follow from R10 to end.
