Crochet Shell Shaped Bag, Beautiful Gift Item, Matching Purse on Saree

Hello friends,

Last week I made this Shell shaped bag which looks very beautiful. It is very simple too.

I used 6 ply Pink Vardhaman Magnus yarn for base and 4 ply Vardhaman Millenium yarn for linings. Width of the bag is 10" height 6" and weight 65 gm (since yarn used is 6 ply). Also I used 3.5 mm hook.

Make ring of ch 6.

R1: dc 8 in ring (first dc means ch3), cl. Keep the remaining part of ring as it is.

R2: ch3, turn, [(dc1, ch2, dc1) V in the gap between two dcs, ch1] 7 times, dc 1 on last dc.

R3: ch3, turn, (V on V, ch1) 7 times, dc 1 on last dc, cl.

R4: ch3, [(dc1, ch2, dc1) V in the gap between two dcs, ch1] 7 times, dc 1 on last dc.

R5: ch3, turn, [(dc2, ch1, dc2) shell in ch2-sp, ch1] 7 times, dc1 on last dc.

R6: same as R5

R7: ch3, turn, [(dc2, ch2, dc2) shell in ch2-sp, ch1] 7 times, dc1 on last dc.

R8: ch3, turn, [(dc3, ch1, dc3) shell in ch2-sp, ch1] 7 times, dc1 on last dc.

R9: same as R8.

R10: ch3, dc7 in first ch1-sp, [(dc3, ch2, dc3) shell in ch1-sp, ch1] 5 times, dc1 on last dc. BO.

R11: Sl st 1 on each of the 7 dc-sts, sc1 in ch1-sp, (dc9) on ch2-sp of 5 shells of R10, lastly sl st on last 7 dc-sts. BO.

Join off-white 4ply yarn at the point where we cut pink yarn.

R: ch1, sc1 in each of the 7 dc-sts, (ch2, sc1 in ch1-sp) repeat till end (going from top to bottom). Turn and [repeat (ch2, sc in ch1-sp) and go from bottom to top, then repeat this (ch2, sc in the same ch1-sp) and go from bottom to top]. Repeat [ to ] till end and lastly make this line only once. Lastly make hdc 1 in each st.

Make one more piece like this.

BELT: ch4, dc1 in first ch, (ch3, dc1 in the 2 threads just like picot) repeat this till the required length of the belt. I made nearly 3 ft long belt.

BASE FOR THE BAG: R1: ch4, dc2 in first ch, ch3 turn

R2: dc1 in first st, (means dc2 in first st), dc1 on each of the 2 dc-sts, ch3 turn

R3: dc1 in same st (means dc2 in first st), dc1 in 3 sts, ch3 turn,

R4: dc1 in same st (means dc2 in first st), dc1 in 4 sts, ch3 turn,

R5: dc1 in same st (means dc2 in first st), dc1 in 5 sts, ch3 turn,

R6: dc1 in same st (means dc2 in first st), dc1 in 6 sts, ch3 turn, (8)

R7 to R15: dc1 in each st (8)

R16: 2dctog, dc1 in 6 sts (7)

R17: 2dctog, dc1 in 5 sts (6)

R18: 2dctog, dc1 in 4 sts (5)

R19: 2dctog, dc1 in 3 sts (4)

R20: 2dctog, dc1 in 2 sts (3)

R21: 3dctog,

Then place marker at the central row (means 11th row of base. Sew this base with two shell pieces by making 2 sc on each dc-row till 10 rows of base then make 2 scs at the remaining part of initial ring. Then again make 2scs in each of the 10 remaining dc-rows. Similarly sew the other edge of the base.

Also sew the belt on both corners.

I sew the ends previously at corner but then I feel that it should be after 7dcs and hence I sew after 7dcs and get the belt little innner side.

Wow!!! look it is so beautiful!

The following video with English subtitles may help you.

 ETC: Enjoy the Creativity.
