Crochet Cute Kitty Cat for Gift Pack, Bookmark or Keychain

 

Hello friends,

See the cute kitty cat, I made. I just loved it. It is multipurpuse because it can be used as a gift pack as in above picture. If you want to give a Book to some kid on his birthday then pack it like this, the kid will be definitely happy!!! Moreover once the packing is open then kid will not throw it because it can be further used as Bookmark. I have shown it in my video, that how it can be used as a bookmark. If that belt is not made then only cat can be used as a keychain.

For this I use Vardhamaan Millenium, hook 3.5 mm and 1.75 mm.

Pattern: For making cat I use 1.75 mm hook.

 Face of Cat: R1: In a magic loop make ch1, sc6. I don't close it and work in spiral.

R2: sc2 in each st (12)

R3: (sc1 in one st, sc2 in next st) 6 times, (18)

R4: (sc1 in 2 sts, sc2 next) 6 times, (24)

R5: (sc1 in 3 sts, sc2 next) 6 times, (30)

Make such 2 pieces. Then keeping RS on RS,

                                                   

 sew them by tapestry needle till 1" remain. 

Fill some cotton or fibre and sew remaining part.

Body of Cat: R1: In a magic loop make ch1, sc 8 (work in spiral)

R2: sc2 in each st (16)

R3: (sc 1 in 3 sts, sc2 next) 3 times, (20)

R4: (sc1 in 4 sts, sc2 next) 4 times, (24)

                                                         

R5 to R7: sc1 in each st, (24)

R8: sc1 in 12 sts, sc2 in next, sc1 in 11 sts, (25)

R9 and R10: sc1 in each st (25)

R11: (sc 1 in 3 sts, 2sctog next)5 times, (20)

R12: (sc 1 in 2 sts, 2sctog) 5 times, (15)

R13 and R14: sc1 in each st (15)

Fill light fiber in side. Sew open end. Then sew face and body as shown in video.

Tail: With white yarn, R1: In magic loop make ch1, sc4

R2: sc1 in each st. (4)

R3: (sc1 in 1 st, sc2 next) 2 times, (6)

R4: sc1 in each st, (6)

R5: with body color, sc1 in each st (6)

Repeat round 6 till the length of tail is from end to the centre of face, nearly 2.5" to 3". Insert little cotton for stiffness. 

Sew this tail as shown in video.

Ears: with white, R1: sc2 in one st, sc1 in 2 sts, sc2 in next (6)

R2: Skip first and last st, sc 1 in middle 4 sts

R3: Skip first and last st and make 2sctog in the middle, BO.

Make eyes and nose by embroidery.

Now I made a belt on which this cat is sewed. I use 3.5 mm hook for that. 

Make chains with double the height of book. I made 19" for which I have to make 85 chs+3

R1: dc1 in each st from 4th ch.

R2: ch1 turn, sc1 in each st

R3: ch3 turn, dc 1 in each st.

Then make ch5 and sew it to other end as a button hole for big button.

Sew the cat at the middle.

Use this as a Gift Packing or use it as a Bookmark or use it as a Keychain without making red belt.
