Hello friends,
How are you. First I share my heartly THANKS for the response you have given to part 1 of Ganeshji's idol. In this second part, I will tell you, how to make Aasan (Sitting chair of Ganeshji), Load on both sides and the Umbrella on the top.
Off white color I used is "I love this yarn" and purple is Bernet, both 4 ply. This time hook I used is 3.5 mm. I also used Zari yarn and one bead.
AASAN: with offwhite yarn...
Make chs equal to length 7", it's 36 chs.
R1: From second ch make, sc1 in 12 sts, ch1, skip 1 st, sc1 in 4 sts, ch1, skip 1 st, sc1 in 12 sts, ch1, skip 1 st, sc1 in 4 sts. 32 sc-sts, 4 ch1-sp
R2: ch1, turn, sc1 in 4 sts, ch1, sc 1 in 12 sc-sts, ch1, sc 1 in 4 sc-sts, ch1, sc1 in 12 sts.
R3: ch1 turn, sc12, ch1, sc4, ch1, sc12, ch1, sc4
Repeat R2 and R3 till its width is 3", ending on R2
Then R1: ch1 turn, sc1 in 12 sts only
R2: ch1 turn, sc 1 in 12 sts
Repeat this row 2 more times. (or equal to the width of 4 sts) BO.
Now join yarn on other side after 4sc-sts and ch1 from other corner as shown in following figer.
Again work only 12 sts for 4 rows. Then fold the sides properly to get BOX shape. By tapestry needle sew all sides except 2 sides. Insert sponj inside and sew remaining sides.
BACK of AASAN: Now join same yarn at one end on back side of this box.
R1: ch1, sc1 in 15 sts
R2 to R4: same as above.
R5: 2sctog, sc1 in 11 sts, 2sctog in last 2 sts (13)
R6: ch1, sc1 in each st
R7: 2sctog, sc1 in 9 sts, 2sctog in last 2 sts (11)
R8: ch1, sc1 in each st
R9: 2sctog, sc1 in 7 sts, 2sctog in last 2 sts (9)
R10: ch1, sc1 in each st
R11: 2sctog, sc1 in 5 sts, 2sctog in last 2 sts (7)
R12: ch1, sc1 in each st
R13: 2sctog, sc1 in 3 sts, 2sctog in last 2 sts (5)
R14: ch1, sc1 in each st
R15: 2sctog, sc1 in 1 sts, 2sctog in last 2 sts (3)
R16: ch1, sc1 in each st
R17: 3sctog
Now with the same yarn, [skip one sc-row and in next make 7 dcs, skip one sc-row and join in next by sc] 3 times, BO.
Similarly make border of 3 fans of 7 dcs on other side also.
Make one more triangle like this from R1 to R17, starting with 15 sts.
Place card board in between and sew the triangle on this back inorder to remain it stiff.
LOAD: Make 2 loads. Make a ring of chs 9
R1 to R9: ch1, sc1 in 9 sts, cl.
With purple yarn make, (sc1, ch3) 9 times, cl, BO.
Sew both loads properly to the Aasan.
UMBRELLA: with purple...
R1: dc12 in magic loop, cl
R2: [dc2 on dc-st, fpdc on next] 6 times, cl. (6fpdcs, dc2 in each pair of fpdcs)
R3: [dc 2 on each of the 2 dc-sts, fpdc on fpdc} 6 times, cl. (24 dcs, 6 fpdcs)
R4: [dc1 on 3 dc-sts, dc2 next, fpdc on fpdc] 6 times, cl. (30 dcs, 6 fpdcs)
R5: [dc1 on 4 dc-sts, dc2 next, fpdc on fpdc] 6 times, cl. (36 dcs, 6 fpdcs)
R6: [dc1 on 5 dc-sts, dc2 next, fpdc on fpdc] 6 times, cl. (42 dcs, 6 fpdcs)
R7: [dc1 on each dc-st, fpdc on fpdc] 6 times, cl. (42 dcs, 6 fpdcs)
R8: with Zari cord, ch1, (sc1 in 4 sts, ch4-picot) 12 times, cl, BO.
Insert metal wire in centre or a thin stitck, glue a bead at the top and fix this umbrella on the back of the Aasan by 2-3 sts with tapestry needle.
Ganeshji's beautiful Aasan with Load and Umbrella is ready.
