Crochet Shopping Bag with Granny Square

 

Hello friends,

First time I made this Beautiful Big Shopping Bag with Granny Squares. It is made by Cream color which is Red Heart and Brown which is "I love this yarn" and 3.5 mm hook. It's size is 16" x 11" x 5.5".

PATTERN: With brown

R1: dc 16 in magic loop, cl (16)

R2: (2dctog in one st, ch1)16 times, cl. Join cream color yarn at any st.

R3: (4dctog in ch1-sp, ch2) 16 times, cl. Join brown yarn in ch2-sp.

R4: [(tr3, ch 3, tr3) in ch2-sp (it's corner), (dc3 in next ch2-sp) 3 times] 4 times, cl.

R5: [(dc3, ch2, dc3) at ch3-sp of corner, dc3 in each gap between two dc3 groups] 4 times, cl.

                                                          

Make such 19 granny squares. Now sew two grannies as follows,...

By cream color yarn, insert hook in right hand granny, sl st, then insert hook in corresponding st of left hand granny and sl st....

First sew all vertical lines and then all horizontal lines. Make two pieces of 3x2 grannies. 

Then sew two grannies to each other that is 2x1 and sew them to one piece 3x2 by hdc in each st. 

Then make a piece of 3x1 grannies and sew it to the base by hdc.

Lastly make the border to the top open out line by sc in each st. Make 5 rounds.

One handle is bought whose length is nearly equal to the middle granny square.

Sew it with sc . First count that how many stitches it will take to cover. Then from front side divide the remaining sts in two parts and sew it in the middle.

Then remaining scs then second handle on other side.

The sew nice lining of cotton cloth from inside actually 1" less than the height of the bag, so that load places in the bag will not disturb the shape of the bag.

I have yet to sew the lining.

The beautiful and sturdy bag is ready.
