Crochet Bag with Ribbed Stitch, Crochet Batawa

Friends, I made one more small bag in this week. You may think that this is Bag fever but the reason is Makar Sankranti and Wedding season is about to come and on both of these occassion small bags are in a rich demand. On both occassions married women offer OTI to other married woman.

Pattern:

I used Nako Piralite yarn, hook 3.5 mm. Height 4”, width 4”, weight 24 gm

Make chs 25.

R1: Sl st in 4 chs starting from second, hdc 1 in each of the remaining chs, ch1 turn,

R2: hdc 1 in back loop of 20 sts, sl st in back loop of 4 sts, ch 1 turn

R3: sl st in back loop of 4 sts, hdc 1 in back loop of 20 sts, ch 1 turn

Repeat R2 and R3 till 12-13 strips appear.

Fold and sew two sides by making sl st.

Thread in tapestry needle at 4 sl st side and sew to close that as a base.

We get cap type shape and base will look as,

Join yarn at other side and make sc around. Nearly 3 scs in between two strips. Total 40 approximately.

Make sl st in each st one round below. BO.

Belt: Join yarn at one side, make chs as per required length and join at opposite end. (nearly 32-35 sts), make sl st in each st, cl on opposite side.

Make a chord of chains and pass through the bag two rounds below. Sew beads at both ends.

The beautiful Batawa is ready.

he following video with English subtitles may help you.

ETC: Enjoy the Creativity.
