Hello friends,

This is the new doily I made yesterday. The design is old which I have used in making Batawa as Sankranti. See next photo, For doily the same design I use here in round.

For doily, I use 4 ply yarn and 3.5 mm hook. It’s diameter is 19” and weight 120 gm.

White 55 gm, Pink 55 gm

R1: dc 14 in magic loop. Cl (14).

R2: dc2 in each st, cl (28).

R3: (dc2, dc1) 14 times, cl (42).

R4: (dc2, dc1 in next 2 sts) 14 times, cl (56).

R5: (dc 1 in 7 sts, ch1) 8 times, cl, (56 sts, 8ch1-spaces).

Note that here we don’t skip 1 st after ch1.

R6: sl st 2, dc1, [(dc2), dc1, ch1, skip 1 st, dc1 on next, ch1, skip ch1-sp of previous round, dc 1 on next dc-st, ch1, skip 1 st, dc 1 on next] rep 8 times, cl.

R7: dc1 in 1 st, [(dc2) in each of the next 2 sts, dc1 in 1 st, (ch1, dc 1 on dc-st) 3 times] 8 times, cl.

R8: Join pink yarn at the st after 3 windows.

[Dc1 in 6 sts, ch2, get 2 long dc type sts from first window in R7, get 2 long dc type sts from the window below that window in R6, get 2 long dc type sts from first window in R5,there are 221 sts, YO pass through 20 sts, YO pass through 2 sts, ch2] rep 8 times, cl.

R9: [dc1 in 2 sts, (dc2) in next 2 sts, dc1 in 2 sts, dc3 in ch2-sp, dc3 in next ch2-sp] rep 8 times, cl.

We have 14 sts in between two flowers, so divide them in two groups of 7

R10: same as R5 but repeating 16 times.

R11: same as R6 only with the change of 16 times.

R12: same as R7, repeated 16 times

Join white yarn at the st after 3 windows.

R13: same as R8 only repeating 16 times.

R14: dc1 in 2 sts, (dc2) in each of the next 2 sts, dc1 in next 2 sts,

R15: same as R10

R16: same as R6 with out increase of st.

R17: dc 1 on dc-st, window on window.

Join pink yarn at the st after third window.

R18: same as R8 only with the change of dc3 instead of dc6 in between two ch2-sps.

R19: same as R 9 only don't increase.

R20: sl st till the top of the flower. [sc1 at the top gap, ch4, dc9 in the next top-gap of flower, ch4] rep till end, cl.

R21: [sc on sc-st, (ch1, dc1 on dc-st) 9 times, ch1] rep till end, cl.

R22: Join golden thread in the first gap between dc-sts. [sc1, (ch3, sc1 in the gap, sc1 in next ch1-gap) rep 7 times, ch1, fpdc on the sc-st below one round, ch1] 16 times, cl.

Work embroidery as shown at the centre.

Also work three rounds of slip stitches as shown (it’s optional). Two rounds complete.

After third round it will look as in fig 1.

The beautiful doily is ready.
