Crochet Peanuts and it's Container:

Hello friends, Peanuts are very healthy and high protain supplier. In India, peanuts are directly eaten either by roasting or by boiled with salt. After roasting it looks just as in last figure the peanut which is made by shading yarn. With peanut I have my childhood memories, in winter days at night we gathered near shegadi (coal stove), peanuts are roasted on that and we ate them along with chatting together and singing songs or playing antakshari. My father was artists, he used to make our names by using the waste covers of peanuts with his beautiful and very neat handwritting. In those days there was not mobile in our hand to capture it's photos. R1: In a magic loop make ch1, sc 6, cl the loop. (6 sts) Don’t cl by sl st in first sc because we are working in spiral. Place marker in first st of each round. R2: (sc1, sc2) 3 times, (9sts) R3: (sc1 in 2 sts, sc2 next) 3 times, (12 sts) R4: sc 1 in each st (12 sts) R5: (sc 1 in 4 sts, 2sctog next) 2 times (10 sts) R6: (sc1 in 3 sts, 2sctog next) 2 times (8 sts) R7: (sc 1 in 2 sts, 2sctog next) 2 times (6sts)

R8: sc2 in each st, (12 sts) R9: sc 1 in each st, (12 sts). Fill some fiber.

R10: (sc 1 in 2 sts, 2sctog next) 3 times (9sts)

R11: (sc 1 in 1 sts, 2sctog next) 3 times (6 sts). If you want to make small peanut then finish here or if you want to make 3bump-peanut (as we see in India) then work out following rounds. R12: as R8. R13: as R9 R14: as R10 Fill little fiber. R15: as R11. Sew by tapestry needle.

Make as much as you want.

Container: For this I use red and white yarns. Change the colour after every 2 rows. With red yarn make chains 24+1. Row 1: sc 1 in 8 chs (starting from second ch), hdc 1 in next 8 sts, dc 1 in last 8 sts, ch3 turn R2: work this row completely in front loop. dc 1 in the front loop of each of the 7 sts, (because ch 3 in first dc), hdc 1 in 8, sc 1 in 8, join white yarn, ch 1 turn R3: work the whole row in front loop. sc 1 in 8 sts, hdc 1 in 8 sts, dc 1 in 8 sts. Ch3 turn,

Note that on wrong side work in front loop and on right side work in back loop. R4: dc1 in front loop of 7 sts, hdc 1 in 8 sts, sc 1 in 8 sts. Repeat these 4 rows 3 more times.

After every 4 strips, insert metallic wire to get stiffness. Join the side by sl st. Make sc 1 on upper edge of cone.

Make a small square to fit the base. It’s size 2”x2”. I made it of 12+2 chs. R1: dc 1 in each st from 4th ch, (12 sts) ch3 turn R2: dc 1 on each st. Repeat till we get 2”x2”.
