Crochet Old Kitchen Equipments Part 4, Chul (Chula) Earthen Stove, Toy for Baby's Kitchen

Hello friends,

This is the forth item in this series of Old Kitchen Equipments. Chulaah is a U-shaped clay based stove used for cooking. Wood pieces, crop waste or cow dung cakes are used as a fuel and fire is created.

Yarn: Vardhman Millenium, hook 1.75mm. Width 2", base 2" and weight 7 gm,

PATTERN: Make chs 25

R1: ch1, sc1 in each ch starting from second ch. (24)

R2: ch1, sc1 in each st (24)

Repeat row 2 till R16.

Then fold it and try to keep it in this shape.

For that first we sew sides from wrong side so that there should not be edge on front side of chula. Then flip to right side.

Lastly we have to make Khur (चुलीचे खूर ) stand to place pot properly and to get air to the fire.

For that make R1:  ch1, sc 6 in magic loop, cl. R2: ch1, sc1 in each st, cl (6)

Make 3 pieces and sew by tapestry needle at proper place.

 Then sew bottom side also.

Then I tried to glue it in the shape of Chula as we thought but it didn't remain so I have to sew it on some card board.

The beautiful Chula is ready. You may put some sticks to show wooden pieces for fire.
