Crochet Small Bag, Make in Any Size, Sankranti Special Sale As Many As You Can

 

Hello friends,

Here is the next Small Bag I made for Sankranti. Many of my friends sale such bags on order for      Sankranti Festival as a Gift (Samkranti Vaan). So I made various designs in this size. This is one more in that series. It is very beautiful but simple, even beginners can make it.

Though I use Thick yarns for that, you can use Vardhman Millenium yarn. Hook used is 3.5 mm. It's length is 5" and width is 4". It's weight is 20 gm. I also made Mobile cover with the same design which has 40 gm weight.

PATTERN: With white yarn make a ring of chs 45. For bigger or smaller make any chs multiple of 3.

R1: dc 1 in each ch, cl (45). Join green yarn at first st.

R2: [(dc1, ch2, dc1) V in one st, skip 2 sts] rep till end, cl.

Join yellow yarn at any ch2-sp of V.

R3: [5dc-popcorn in ch2-sp, ch2] rep till end, cl.

R4: with white, make dc 3 in each yellow ch2-sp, cl. (45)

R5, R6, R7, R8: dc1 in each st, cl (45).

Cover / Lead of Bag: R1: dc1 in 21 sts,

R2, R3: same as R1.

Join green yarn at first st of  R1 of cover.

Border: ch1, (sc2 in dc-row sp) 3 times, sc1 in each of the 21 sts, (sc2 in dc-row sp) 3 times, BO.

Belt: Join white yarn at last st of R8. Make chs 4, dc1 in first ch, (ch3, dc1 in 2 threads as shown in video) 15 times, cl. BO.

Sew other end of belt properly by tapestry needle. 

Lastly sew the base by single crochets taking both sts of base.

The Mobile bag shown in first photo is also made with ring of 45 chs. Only height is increased as per need. Moreover it's belt is made as Romanian Cord.

Crochet Small Bag Sunflower Design, Pouch, Keychain cum Bag for Sankranti

 

Hello friends,

This is my new bag which looks very beautiful and it is very simple to make. You can surely make 5-6 bags in different (not necessarili yellow, it looks cute in various colors too) colors and gift them to your close friends.

It's size 4.5" from inside and 7.5" from outside. it's weight is 25-30 gm with 3.5 mm hook. This is 16 petal flower, if you want smaller, you can make only 3 brown rounds and have one with 12 petals.

PATTERN: With brown colormake

R1: dc 12 in magic loop, cl (12). First dc is always ch3.

R2: dc2 in each st, cl (24).

R3: (dc1 in one st, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (36).

R4: (dc1 in 2 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (48). 

Now here we shall make ch3-loop for the handle to pass from that. So make ch3, skip 1 st and join in back loop of next st, BO.

Join yellow yarn at the st next to the ch3-loop.

R5: ch1, sc1 in same st, sc1 in 1 sts ahead, [(sc1, ch5, sc1) in next st, sc1 in 2 sts, in next st] rep till end, cl. (16 ch5-loops are made)

R6: [in next ch5-loop (dc6 , ch2-picot by sl st, dc6 ) sl st in the space between middle two scs] rep 16 times, cl, BO.

Also make one flat circle as R1 to R4 by brown yarn.

After R4 make chs 50 and join it by sc in the same st. 

This will be our locking system and loop to attach key (if you use it as a keychain). Cut the yarn keeping 15" yarn end.

Now hold the two pieces so that the ch50-handle's stitch and ch3-loop of flower should be against each other. Now skip 6 sts on both sides of handle unsewed and sew the remaining part by tapestry needle.

For which you have to pass the yarn from 50chs-loop to 6 sts ahead and then start sewing.

The beautiful bag is ready.

Crochet Small Coin Bags with Heart Design, Keychains for Sankranti Gift, Special Sankranti Series

 

Hello friends,

 Many of my friends always suggest me to make video of some designs which they like and unable to make just by watching the photo. So I use to make those designs for them. This is also one of that type. My subscribers ask to make granny square with heart inside. So instead of making just heart, I made this coinbag in this series.

For this coin bag, I used Vardhaman Millenium yarn and 3.5 mm hook. It's width is 3.7" and weight just 11 gm. (Very affordable to gift to many friends)

PATTERN: with red yarn,

R1: in magic loop make dc12, cl.

R2: Skip first 2 sts, in third make tr 8, skip 2 sts, dc1 in next 2 sts, then comes bottom central st, make (dc1, tr1, ch1, tr1, dc1), dc1 in 2 sts, tr8 in next, skip 2 sts, sl st in next, cl BO.

Join green yarn at 4th treble st from top centre.

R3: Make first corner in this st (dc2, ch2, dc2), hdc1 next, sc1, hdc1, dc1, tr1, 

now make second corner (tr2, ch2, tr2),

dc1 in next, hdc1, next is ch1-sp, make sc1 in that, hdc1, dc1, make third corner in next (tr2, ch2, tr2),

tr1 next, dc1, hdc1, sc1, hdc1, 

lastly forth corner (dc2, ch2, dc2) in next, hdc1 next, 2dctog next, tr1 at top centre of heart, 2dctog next, hdc1, cl. sl st till ch2-sp.

Note here that all four corners are not same here (usually which are same in any granny square).

R4: This is normer granny square round. [(dc2, ch2, dc2) in ch2-sp, dc1 in each of the 5 sts] rep 4 times, cl.

If you want to make bigger purse then make R5 and R6: [(dc2, ch2, dc2) in ch2-sp at corner,dc1 in each of the dc-sts in between two shells] 4 times, cl.

Make 2 similar squares. Sew three sides by placing right side on right side with single crochet taking both stitches.

Lastly join the yarn at the central st of one part of bag. Make chs 50, sc at the starting point.

The beautiful bag is ready.

If you join two heart grannies on one side horizontally then you can make purse 7"x 3.6".

Or you can also join them vertically and make a Mobile bag.

So customize your own bag and make it.

Crochet Small Coin Bags with Granny Squares, Keychains for Sankranti Gift, Special Sankranti Series

 

December, the year ending and in new year's January we have one and only one festival in India which occurse on fixed date (others in fixed Marathi day that is TITHI) and this festival is Sankranti which occures on 14th January. Married women offer small gift to some marries women which is called VAAN. 

Last year I made many videos of amigurumi videos as Keychains for Sankranti. But then I realise that ladies avoid to make single crochet designs as they take more time. They want to complete orders for Sankranti. Hence this year I made most of the Sankranti gifts by double crochets which my subscribers like most. Hence in this series of posts, you will find very simple designs which my followers can make easily in a large numer like 30-40 for Sankranti Gift.

I made some small purses for this purpose means to give it as a gift to your friends. Some are very small which can be used as Keychain. So here I will post these coin bags in special Sankranti Series.

These two patterns can be made by any granny square. Here I explain those which are seen in above photo. For bigger size just work out 3-4 rounds more, the pattern will be same. 

TYPE 1: In above phot brown, white and red. Very Small Used as Keychain (only in 3 rounds): Any color or properly we can say use any left over yarn. This is best use of yarn pieces which generally we have in ample.

Pattern: Col 1: R1: In magic loop. (dc3, ch1) 4 times, cl.

Join color 2 at any ch1-sp, R2: [(dc3, ch2, dc3) shell in ch1-sp, ch1] 4 times, cl.

Join col 3 at any ch2-sp, R3: [shell on shell, ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp, ch1] 4 times, cl.

Make two pieces and sew 3 sides by sc. 

Join yarn at the mid of one part of the open side. Make chs 50 and sew other end at the same place from where we start to make chs. The beautiful keychain is made so quickly.

TYPE 2: This granny is different made in pink color (5 rounds only)

R1: In magic loop, [4dc puff, ch3 (one ch to fix puff then 2 more)] 8 times, cl. Sl st in ch2-sp.

R2: [(4dc-puff, ch2, 4dc-puff) shell in ch2-sp, ch1, dc3 in next ch2-sp, ch1] 4 times, cl.

Later on I realised that I should have made ch1 after shell and after every dc3 made (which I had not made in video) So I think you can make it.

R3: [shell in ch3-sp of shell, ch1, dc1 in ch1-sp, dc1 in all dc-sts, dc1 in next ch1-gap, ch1] 4 times, cl.

Repeat rounf 3 as many times as you want to get perfect square. I made only upto R4 and R5.

Then make 2 pieces and join 3 sides by scs. In the middle of open side make a loop of chs 50 for holding the bag or for attaching keys.

The beautiful bag is ready. It will look as in picture 1 above.

Beautiful Handmade Cotton Purse just by Folding Hankerchief, Origami Purse

In 1988 when first time we purchased television set , we used to

see every program, may be on agriculture, may be for children,

may be on music, politics etc. Once I was watching children 

program in which they were showing how to make origami

purse from a paper. I liked that purse I made it by a newspaper

and put it in my art-box. Later on when I was trying to make

five different types of purses for Aparna, my vahini,m(wife

of my brother),  at once an idea of making that origami 

purse of a cotton cloth stroked my mind and I started

as per the instructions given under.

Origami is really a fantastic art, at that time I don't know much about it but after that I read much

on that and I come to know that origami is purely Mathematics (particularly Geometry).

Here I should also mention  thanks to my vahini and her mother for this photo otherwise I made one more but I don't have photo of any one.

I will try to explain, how to make this purse with pictures.

I suggest that first you should try with paper and then purse of cloth.

We make a purse first by paper. Deliberately I have chosen a paper which bears different colors on both sides, golden on one side and white on other side as fig 2 and 3. The size of the paper is 90 x 60 or in it's proportion. This paper is 45 cm x 30 cm.

Now fold the edges on both sides for 1 cm as shown in fig 4.

Now fold inside for 3 cm as in fig 5

Now fold the whole paper as in fig 6. Hold it as shown in fig 7 and fold the close white part 3 cm as shown in fig 7.

Pass the folded side on back.

Mark the center of the length and fold from center by putting the point A at C and B at D as in fig 8 where C=D

Now place the golden folded strips on both sides as shown in fig 9.  From other side it will look as in Fig 10. Also fold the triangle on the horizontal line as in fig 10. Insert the lowest point of the triangle  inside the folded golden strip.

Turn the paper purse, other side will look as in Fig 12.

Fold at AB and insert the golden strip part inside PQ. Similarly fold at CD and insert golden strip part inside RS. Now it will look as in fig 13 and 14 from both sides.

When we make such a purse of cloth then we have to use stiff cloth

as lining like bukram. Sew the lining on all four sides reverse and

sew the end part. This lined piece must be 3 x 2 size. Also note

here that back portion of the golden purse is also seen after completion of  the purse. Hence I have taken two pieces of green cloth and sewed the lining in between. After the fold in figure number 7, I also sewed decorative chicken lace to the folded part and then follow the remaining procedure above. Lastly sew the show buttons as shown in the first figure so that all folded portion will be intact. Sew velcro on both sides of the opening so that it can be closed. You can use it for keeping old pens, pencils, crayon pencils of your kids.

Sewing lace for decoration is one of the way, you can use your creativity and decorate it in so many ways. In another purse which I had made, I used two different cloths, one plane and other matching printed. It gives different modern look. But unfortunately I don't have it's photo.
