Hello friends,
In previous post I have given the pattern of the purple flower with its sepal and polen all. Now let's see the remaining part of this S-shaped table mat.
As I have mentioned in previous post it's length is 36" width 15" and weight 220 gm.
PATTERN: In order to make the white part smoothly and easily, I didn't join the flower with sepal. That we shall do at last.
Join white yarn at ch2-sp of any petal of the sepal.
R1: ch1, sc1 in same place, (ch7, sc1 in ch2-sp of next green petal) 10 times, cl.
R2: turn, [(dc2, ch2, dc2) shell at sc-st, ch2, (dc1, ch1, dc1) V in 4th ch, ch2] rep till end.
R3: turn sl st till ch2-sp, [shell on shell, ch2, V on V, ch2] rep till end.
R4: turn sl st till ch2-sp, [shell on shell, ch3, V on V, ch3] rep till end.
R5 and R6: same as R4
R7, R8 and R9: turn sl st till ch2-sp, [shell on shell, ch4, V on V, ch4] rep till end.
This flower part is done now we shall make similar 9 rows with another flower also but simulteniously we also join it with first part.
R1: same as R1 above with second flower.
R2: ch3, join with corresponding st of R8 then ch2, (V in 4th ch of second flower's ch7-sp, ch2, shell on sc-st of above R1) 9 times
R3: sl st till ch2-sp, [shell on shell ch2, V on V, ch2] rep till end, lastly shell is already made so join by sl st at corresponding st
Similarly make R4 to R9. Again sl st till ch2-sp. Then we work on one part only.
R10: turn sl st till ch2-sp, ch1, [sc1 in ch2-sp of shell, ch6, dc1 in ch1-sp of V] rep till end.
R11: [dc6 in ch6-sp, dc1 on dc-st, dc6 in ch6-sp, dc1 in sc-st] rep till end, cl.
BORDER: R1: with yellow yarn, dc1, ch1 in each dc-st till end.
R2: with purple yarn, (dc2 in ch1-sp, ch1) rep till end.
Join purple yarn in the first ch1-sp so as to work on right side.
R3: sc1 in the same ch1-sp, [dc8 (fan) in next ch1-sp, sc1 in next ch1-sp] rep till end.
It looks like frill and note that number of fans should be multiple of 7. Now we have to join them to make flowers whose 5 petals will be up and 2 petals down. For symmetry we keep only one petal down in the starting and at end.
Join dark purple yarn at first dc-st. Roughly join by marker or yarn pieces to get an idea (see the video below)
R4: [sc1 in each of the 8 dc-sts of one petal, sc1 at joint NOT IN SC-ST but in the gap between two dc-sts below] make this border for 6 petals, then enlarge the stitch and pass through the st where we have to join it (means after one petal). Then {make border of sc of 3 petals, join after the last petal of previous flower of 5 petals. Again make border of 5 petals and join with the previous flower to make the second flower of 5 petals}. rep till end. Lastly sc 1 at end st.
Lasly sew the purple flowers made as per previous post
The beautiful S-shaped tablemat is ready.
The following video with English subtitles may help you.
ETC: Enjoy the Creativity.
