Crochet Samai Rangoli with Diya Border, Specially for Diwali

 

Hello friends,

Diwali is coming soon. So I made a new Diya Rangoli or Samai Rangoli with Diya border, specially for Diwali.

I used Vardhamaana Millenium yarn and 3.5 mm hook. It's interior diameter is 3.7" and outer diameter 9.5". Nearly 25-30 gm yarn is needed. So you can make it from your remaining stuff.

Pattern: Make ring of chs 60 with Navy blue yarn.

R1: (dc1 in 4 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl. BO. (72)

Join pink yarn at any st.

R2: [(dc1, ch2, dc1) V in one st, ch 8, skip 7 sts] 9 times, cl.

                                             

R3: ch4, [tr 7 in upper ch2-sp of V, tr7 in left arm-dc of V, tr7 in right arm-dc of V, cl, 

ch4, join by sc at the base of first tr, ch4, join by sl st at first ch (in ch8-space), ch7, join by sc at right arm-dc of next V, ch3] rep till end. cl.

R4: with blue yarn in each ch7-sp make, [hdc1, dc11, hdc1], cl, BO.

R5: with Zari cord from inner side of this Rangoli make ch1, sc1 in each of the 60 chs initially made, cl, BO.

R6: From outer border make [sc1 in 6 sts, next sc1, ch4-picot by sc, sc1 in remaining 6 sts] rep 9 times, cl.

The beautiful Samai Rangoli is ready.
