Crochet Big Doily With Diya Border Specially for Diwali

 

Hello friends,

As my previous post in which I have given my new pattern for Samai Rangoli, now I made a Doily specially for Diwali. The beautiful doily with diya border is made as under.

I used Varthamaan Millenium 4 ply yarn, hook 1.75 mm, golden flat sequins and some decorative beads. Initially I started with pink Eyelash yarn, it looks beautiful but due to that the pink petals look down and hence do not look good. Hence later I shifted to Vardhamaan Millenium yarn and make the flower again and then knitted further. So in video you have to accept this change little bit.

Pattern: With dark white yarn in a magic loop make,

R1: dc12, cl 

                                                          

R2: dc2 in each st, cl (24)

Join eyelash yarn at any st.

R3: (dc1 in one st, dc2 next) 12 times, cl. (36)

R4: (dc1 in 2 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (48)

R5: (dc1 in 3 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (60); 

Join again white yarn at any st.

R6: hdc 1 in each st, cl (60).

oin Vardhamaan Millenium pink yarn at any st. 

R7: sc1, (ch12, sc1 in each ch starting from second ch.ch4, skip 3 sts, sc1 in next) 15 times, lastly instead of ch3, make ch2, sc1 in first st. cl.

R8: [sc1 in first st, hdc1 next, dc1 in 2 sts, (dc2) next, dc1 in 2 sts, hdc1 in 2 sts, sc1, sl st 1 in last st, ch2, then on other side also make, sl st1, sc1, hdc1 in 2 sts, dc1 in 2 sts, (dc2) in next, dc1 in 2 sts, hdc1, sc1, then sc1 in ch3-sp] rep 15 times, cl.

After this syage I feel that petals are looking down and eyelash yarn part looks up and hence I decided to change this yarn. The pink flower type can be used separately as a Aasan for Mahalaxmi. Then I made same design only in Vardhamaan millenium yarn and not eyelash yarn. 

Join green yarn at any ch2-sp of any petal.

R9: ch1, sc1 in same st, (ch10, sc1 in ch2-sp of next petal) repeat till end, cl.

R10: dc12 in each ch10-sp, cl (180).

R11: dc1 in each st, cl. (180)

R12: same as R11.

Join yellow yarn at any st.

R13: (dc1, ch2, dc1) V in one st, [ch 10, skip 9 sts, V in next] rep till end, cl. (18 Vs made).

R14: ch4, [(tr 7 in ch2-sp of V, tr 7 in left arm (left dc) of V, tr7 in right arm (right dc) of V, cl, ch1, (sc1 in 2 sts, sc2 in next) 7 times, cl, ch4, sc1 at base st of first tr, ch4, sc1 in first ch (out of 10), ch10, sc in first dc of V, ch3] 18 times, cl. (18 diyas made).

Join green yarn at any ch2-sp.

R15: [dc2 in ch4-sp, dc10 in ch10-sp] 18 times, cl (216).

R16: [dc2 in one st, dc11 in next 11 sts] 18 times, cl. (234).

R17: dc1 in each st, cl (234). BO.

Join Zari cord at any st of R11 from wrong side.

R18: Make slip sts around R11.

R19: Outer border: (hdc 1 in 5 sts, ch 4-picot by sc) rep till end, cl.

The beautiful Diwali Doily is ready.

Then I made one more with different color for Diya and central flower.

Crochet Samai Rangoli with Diya Border, Specially for Diwali

Diwali is coming soon. So I made a new Diya Rangoli or Samai Rangoli with Diya border, specially for Diwali.

I used Vardhamaana Millenium yarn and 3.5 mm hook. It's interior diameter is 3.7" and outer diameter 9.5". Nearly 25-30 gm yarn is needed. So you can make it from your remaining stuff.

Pattern: Make ring of chs 60 with Navy blue yarn.

R1: (dc1 in 4 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl. BO. (72)

Join pink yarn at any st.

R2: [(dc1, ch2, dc1) V in one st, ch 8, skip 7 sts] 9 times, cl.

                                             

R3: ch4, [tr 7 in upper ch2-sp of V, tr7 in left arm-dc of V, tr7 in right arm-dc of V, cl, 

ch4, join by sc at the base of first tr, ch4, join by sl st at first ch (in ch8-space), ch7, join by sc at right arm-dc of next V, ch3] rep till end. cl.

R4: with blue yarn in each ch7-sp make, [hdc1, dc11, hdc1], cl, BO.

R5: with Zari cord from inner side of this Rangoli make ch1, sc1 in each of the 60 chs initially made, cl, BO.

R6: From outer border make [sc1 in 6 sts, next sc1, ch4-picot by sc, sc1 in remaining 6 sts] rep 9 times, cl.

The beautiful Samai Rangoli is ready.

Crochet Aakash Kandil, Aakash Diya, Table Lamp Specially for Diwali and Christmas

 

Hello friends, 

Let's see, what I made this week. It's beautiful Table Lamp for Diwali or Christmas. You can put Panati or Battery Lamp inside this and keep on table, it will look amazing. See the following photos in first it is kept on Table where as in second it is hanged. Panati is kept in side on table and bult is hanged inside it in second photo. So it can be placed on table or hanged out side, for that type of lamp, I sewed tassels at the base.

For this I need 2 square metal rings  (6" each side), 4 metal stems (9" length),

4 pompom, Vardhamaan Millenium yarn (actually left over yarn), Golden yassels and 3.5 mm hook.

Tie the stems on 4 sides keeping metal squares at base and at top and form a box type.

Now make 4 sides (walls) of that box.

R1: with yellow, make dc 12 in a magic loop, cl. BO.

R2: with green, make (dc1 on dc, ch1) 12 times, cl.

R3: (2dctog in ch1-sp, ch2) 12 times, cl, BO.

R4: with red, (5dc-popcorn in ch2-sp, ch4) 12 times, cl, BO.

R5: with white, [(tr3, ch3, tr3) in ch4-sp, (dc4 in next ch4-sp, ch1) 2 times] 4 times, cl, BO.

R6: with blue, [(dc4, ch2, dc4) in ch3-sp, dc4 in each ch1-sp] rep till end, cl.

It's approximately 5.5", hence after hdc round to join with two sides, it will be perfect. For height we have to work 2 rows more on two opposite sides.

Row 1: ch3 (as first dc), dc1 in same st, dc4 in each ch1-sp (4 times), dc 2 in last st.

Row 2: ch3, turn, dc4 in each gap (5 times), dc1 in last st.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 on other side opposite to this.

Make such 4 parts. Sew two opposite parts first by making hdc along with the metal stem on sides and ring's side on top and bottom.

Then for other two sides, we  don't need to make hdc because those will be ready and this time we have to sew them by tapestry needle taking both threads of each st.

Hence we make the row of hdc in each st on longer sides of these parts and then sew by tapestry needle.

Roof: with blue make, ring of ch 24.

R1: (3dc tog, ch2) 8 times, cl. BO.

R2: with white, dc3 in each ch2-sp, cl, BO.

R3: with yellow, [dc2 in one gap beyween two dc3-groups, (dc2, ch2, dc2)shell in next  gap] 4 times, cl, BO.

R4: with green, [dc2 in each gap, shell in ch2-sp] 4 times, cl.

After  R3, we have 6 dc-sts in betweem two ch2-spaces.

After R4, we have 8 dc-sts in between two ch2-spaces.

Thus 2 dcs increase after wach round. Repeat this round till we have 20 dc-sts in between two ch2-spaces. Colors as per your choice. I used red after green, then green again, Then yellow, white and blue 2 times. 

Then put ch2-spaces in 4 metal stems and sew all sides by tapestry needle by taking 2 threads form the side st and only back loop of the top, we just made.

In unwotked front loops make dc 1 in each st and dc 3 at corner by blue yarn.

Lastly make hdc1 in each st and 3 hdc at corner, as a border. Glue small pompoms on the open end of metal stems.

If you want to use this as table lamp then make cley balls at base and if you are using this as a hanging lamp then sew tassels or beads Latkans.

The most beautiful Table lamp or Aakash Diya is ready.
