Crochet Trug Type 1, Flower Basket, Vessel to carry Flowers, Fruits etc, Paradi, Tashtari

 

Hello friends,

I always wish to make something new, innovative. This time I made this TRUG, wooden basket to carry flowers or fruits. In Marathi (my mothertoung) we call it PARADI. It's very simple to make.

It's diameter is 6.3" and height 2". Of course you can make it in any size, it's very simple. I use Red heart yarn and 3.5 mm hook. But again, no restrictions, you can use and 4 ply yarn particularly Vardhamaan Millenium etc.

PATTERN: R1: In a magic loop, make ch1, sc6, cl (6)

R2: sc2 in each st, cl (12).

R3: (sc1 in 1 st, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (18).

R4: (sc1 in 2 sts, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (24).

R5: (sc1 in 3 sts, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (30).

R6: (sc1 in 4 sts, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (36).

R7: (sc1 in 5 sts, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (42).

R8: (sc1 in 6 sts, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (48)

R9: (sc1 in 7 sts, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (54)

R10: (sc1 in 8 sts, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (60)

R11: (sc1 in 9 sts, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (66)

R12: (sc1 in 10 sts, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (72).

                                                   

R13: dc1 in back loop of each st, cl (72).

R14: (bpdc1, fpdc1) rep till end, cl. (First bpdc means bpsc, ch2 or make simply 3 chs)

R15: (fpdc on fpdc, bpdc on bpdc) rep till end, cl.

R16 to R19 or R20: same as R15. 9Till the height is 2")

Now join yellow yarn at one  unworked front loop of R 13.

Border: (sl st, ch2, hdc1 in next st) rep till end, cl.

Make the same border at the top only in front loop of each st.

BELT: Ring of ch4, (3dctog, ch2, 3dctog) shell, in a ring, [take yarn on front side, sl st in ch2-sp of shell, shell in ch2-sp] repeat till the required length of belt.

Sew this in the back loop left unworked on the top.

The beautiful trug (Paradi) is ready.
