Hi,

Friends, here is my new creation of 3D leaves yoke sweater for 1.5 to 2 years baby. After many trial and errors I am able to make this yoke.

This is top down sweater and the yoke is started with 72+2 sts for the design. So for bigger size you may add 6 sts and start the neck with 74+6=80 sts. In that case you will get 13 leaves(as here I have 12 leaves), for still bigger size you may start with 86 sts and so on.

You can also make variation, for bigger size of 86 sts we can make bigger leaves also. For example here we make the leaf of  width 8 sts and length of 9 rows, for bigger leaf we may increase upto 10 sts and then the length will be of 10 rows.

Note: subscript after bracket denotes number of stitches (sts) in that bracket

R1 (RS): double crochet (dc) 1 on each chain (ch) starting from 4^th ch (72 sts), ch 3 turn

R2 (WS): dc 1 in each st from second, moreover increase 2 stitches (st) on back part of neck (74 sts), ch 3 turn,

R3: [BPdc1 in next 2 sts, (1FPdc, 1 ch, 1FPdc) in next dc, BPdc 1 in next 2 sts, FPdc 1 in next]₇ repeat 12 times till end, BPdc 1 in next, dc in last st, ch 3 turn, (86 sts)

R15: BPdc 1 in next 10 sts, bud on next st, [BPdc 1 in next 13 sts, bud in next st]₁₄, repeat 10 times, BPdc 1 in 10 sts, FPdc 1, dc 1 in last, ch 3 turn. (164 sts)

Divide 164 as follows,

164= 24 Front +34 Sleeve +48 Back +34 Sleeve +24 Front

Increase 4 sts as underarm sts on both sides, place markers as mentioned above.

R16: dc 1 on each st from second st to marker, ch 4, dc 1 in each st on back side, ch 4, dc 1 in each st remained. (25+48+25= 98 sts + 8 chs)

R17: Increase 12 sts evenly among 98 sts and work 6 dcs on 4 chs underarm. Thus there are 122 sts. Ch 3 and turn,

R18: dc 1 on each st from second

Repeat row 18 till the height is 13.5/14” and the last row is on wrong side.

Border:

1.       Make border of hdc on each st along button band, neck line and button hole band.

2.       Lower border of BUBBLES as follows,

Sc 1 on first st, [ch 3, incomplete dc 3 in first ch, YO and pass through all 3 sts, again  ch 3 incomplete dc 2 in first stitch, YO and pass through 3 sts on hook, join with the first gap by sl st and the sl st on first sc horizontally so that bubble will be fixed, sc 1 in next 5 sts] repeat till end.
