Hello friends,
How are you all friends? Hope happy with yarn anfd hook. First time I made Romper. I made it for my relative in USA.
Yarn used : Vardhman Millenium and hook 3.5 mm. Height of the Romper 16" and width 10.5". Weight is 130 gm. 20 grms white and 110 gm pink yarn. 4 buttons.
PATTERN: Start with pink yarn, make chs 56+1.
Row 1: sc1 in each ch starting from second. (56)
R2: ch2 (not considered as first dc), [dc1 in 3 sts, (dc2) in next] 14 times, (70)
R4: ch2, [dc1 in 5 sts, (dc2) in next] 14 times, (98)
R5: ch2, [dc1 in 3 sts, (dc2) in next] 24 times, dc1 in last 2 dc-sts (122)
R6: ch3 (considered as dc), skip 1 st, [V (dc1, ch2, dc1) in next, skip 2 sts] rep till end, lastly skip 1 st, dc1 in last st. (40 Vs made)
R7: Join white yarn at first st, sc1, [ch3, (5dc-popcorn in ch2-sp of V, sc1 in central gap, ch4, sc1 in same gap, ch3, sc1 in same gap, ) ch3, sl st in the gap between two Vs] rep 40 times, cl. (40 buds made)
Now let's divide this yoke in 5 parts as follows,
Place marker after 5 buds for one back part, skip 10 buds space for sleeve and place marker next, again 10 bud space for front part and place marker, again skip 10 buds space for other sleeve and keep last 5 buds space for other back part (Markers at blue marked)

Next we work again in R5 and make shell in the base st of V made in R6.
Round 8: ch3 (as first dc), (shell at base st of V) 5 times (upto marker), make ch 11 as underarm stitches then again make (shells on each base st of V) 10 times, again make chs 11 as underarm stitches, then work shells on last 5 base sts of V. (Thus we have 20 shells and two ch11 spaces), lastly join by sl st with the first dc of the first shell made. Thus here onward we shall work in round. .png)

R9: ch3, shell on shell till chs 11, (skip 3 chs, make shell on next) 2 times, skip last 3 chs, (Thus 2 new shells are made on ch11-sp), shell on shell ten times, again (skip 3 chs, make shell on next) 2 times, skip last 3 chs, lastly make shell on shell 5 times. (Thus now we have 24 shells), lastly dc on last st.
Repeat this round till the height of the romper from shoulder to bottom is nearly 13".
Here after we have to divide this in 2 parts means each of 12 shells. Marker by blue round. Now note one thing Romper can be made in two types.
1. Without buttoms at bottom and
2. with buttons at bottom which will make to change the diaper of baby easily (without removing whole romper)
For first type we have to work each leg in round and work 4 rounds with shell on shell.
But I am making this with buttons at bottom, for this we work as follows,
Row 1: make dc on first st, (shell on shell) 12 times, dc 1 on last st
R2 to R4: same as R1.
Similarly make other leg.
Then for making border of single crochets first we have to make this last row in proper level.
Leveling row: at first st make ch1, hdc1, [skip first dc-st, make sc 1 on next dc-st, sc1 in ch2-sp, sc1 in next dc-st, skip next dc-st of shell, hdc1 in the gap between two shells] rep till end, hdc in last gap.
Now join white yarn at first st.
Border R1: ch1, sc1 in each st
R2 and R3: same as R1.
Complete border of other leg too.
Then make two rows of sc- border for button band and button hole band, making sc1 in sc-row-space and sc 2 in dc-row-space. (approximately 11 sts on both bands).
The let's make button band for bottom. For back side simply make
R1: ch1, sc 1 in each st approximately 16 scs on each side.
R2 and R3 same as R1.
On front side of romper make button-hole band with 3 eyelets.
R1: ch1, sc1 in each st
R2: ch1, sc 1 in 2 sts, ch2, skip 2 sts, (sc1 in 11 sts, ch2, skip 2 sts) 2 times, sc1 in last 2 sts.
R3: ch1, sc1 in 2 sts, sc2 in ch2-sp. (sc1 in 11 sts, sc2 in ch2-sp) 2 times, sc1 in 2 sc-sts, BO.
Sew 3 buttons on wrong side of the back part of romper.
The beautiful romper is ready.
