New Year Special : Crochet Peacock Show Piece, Crochet Home Decor

I wish you very very happy new year 2023. 

I made this special show piece PEACOCK- Show piece for my followers and subscribers. Last year on Valentine day I published this,

This Peacock show piece is very beautiful. I used thin 3 ply yarn, Hobby Stores. I also used hooks 1.75mm and 1mm. Height of the show piece 8:

PATTERN: 

FACE and NECK: with dark blue,

R1: Make ch2, sc 6 in first ch. (6)

We work in spiral so always put marker in the first st.

R2: sc 2 in each st (12)

R3: (sc1, (sc2) in next) 6 times, (18)

R4, R5, R6 and R7: sc 1 in each st (18)

R8: (sc1, 2sctog next) 3 times, sc 1 in remaining 9 sts,  (15)

R9, R10, R11 and R12: sc 1 in each st (15)

R13: (sc1in 3 sts, 2 sctog next) 3 times, (12)

R14: sc 1 in each st (12).

Fill fiber inside along with metallic wire in order to shape the neck as expected.

Repeat round 14 till the length of neck is 4.5" to 5".

BODY: with same color,

R1: (sc1 in 3 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, (15)

R2: (sc1 in 4 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, (18)

R3: (sc1 in 5 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, (21)

R4: (sc1 in 6 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, (24)

R5: (sc1 in 7 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, (27)

R6 and R7: sc 1 in each st (27)

R8: (sc1 in 8 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, (30)

R9 and R10: sc 1 in each st (30)

R11: (sc1 in 5 sts, sc2 next) 5 times, (35)

R12: sc 1 in each st (35)

R13: (sc1 in 6 sts, sc2 next) 5 times, (40)

R14 and R15: sc 1 in each st (40)

R16: (sc 1 in 6 sts, 2sctog next) 5 times, (35)

R17: (sc 1 in 5 sts, 2sctog next) 5 times, (30)

R18: (sc 1 in 8 sts, 2sctog next) 3 times, (27)

R19: (sc 1 in 7 sts, 2sctog next) 3 times, (24)

R20: (sc 1 in 6 sts, 2sctog next) 3 times, (21)

R21: (sc 1 in 5 sts, 2sctog next) 3 times, (18)

Stuff the fiber inside and close by sewing with tapestry needle.

FEATHER:

R1: with dark purple make hdc 7 in a magic loop and with yellow hdc 3 in the same loop, cl, (10 sts)

BO both yarns.

R2: Join olive green yarn in the middle st of three yellow stitches. Make sc 2 in each of the next 3 sts, join pink yarn, sc 2 in each of the next 5 sts, again with green make sc 2 in last 2 sts (20 sts). BO both.

Out of these 20 sts keep 9 sts on both sides, 1 st at top and 1 st at bottom.

R3: Join blue yarn at the top st (above yellow). Hdc 1 in each st, cl (20). BO.

R4: Join dark blue yarn at the top st, sc 1 in 5 sts, hdc 1 in 4 sts, (hdc2) in next, (hdc3) in next which is lower edge st, (hdc2) in next, hdc 1 in 4 sts, sc 1 in 4 sts, cl.(24). BO.

Make such 10-12 pieces.

WING:

Make ch4

R1: dc4 in forth ch. (5 sts) turn

R2: (dc2), dc1, (dc3), dc1, (dc2) turn, (9)

R3: (dc2), dc1 in 3 sts, (dc3), dc1 in 3 sts, (dc2), turn, (13)

R4: sc1 in first st, (ch3, skip 1 st, sc1 in next st) 6 times, turn, (6 ch3-spaces)

R5: sc1 in first ch3-sp, (ch3, sc1 in next ch3-sp) 5 times, turn, (5 ch3-sps)

R6: sc1 in first ch3-sp, (ch3, sc1 in next ch3-sp) 4 times, turn, (4 ch3-sps)

R7: sc1 in first ch3-sp, (ch3, sc1 in next ch3-sp) 3 times, turn, (3 ch3-sps)

R8: sc1 in first ch3-sp, (ch3, sc1 in next ch3-sp) 2 times, turn, (2 ch3-sps)

R9: sc1 in first ch3-sp, (ch3, sc1 in next ch3-sp) 1 times, turn, (1 ch3-sps), BO.

Make 2 wings.

BEAK: Make 6dctog by yellow yarn for Beak.

CROWN: Make ch5, sc1 in 2nd ch. Make 2 0r 3. and attach properly.

Then sew small beads (white) on both sides of face as eyes. and make embroidery by yellow above the bead as shown or glue a piece of yellow yarn as I have done.

LEGS:

Take two pieces of 5” metallic wire and by folding wire make legs as shown. Wrap brown yarn over it.

Assemble all parts of peacock.

Now either decorate a big ring as in figure 2 and sew the peacock on it as in Valentine day show piece, or  I decided to go by different way. I used waste things in my home, one still rod piece and wrap it by yarn.

  

Also I used two earthen pots. Decorate them by beads. Join rod and earthen pots as shown and place the peacock on this. Fix it.

Crochet Purse, Bag, Pouch, Coin Bag

 

Hello friends, 

Here is one more pouch design I made for my friends in Sankranti eve. It's very simple and quickly made. So you can have a quick matching purse on 11th hour for party.

Yarn Vardhamaan Millenium, hook 3.5 mm.

Length 6”, height 4” and weight 32 gm.

Make chs 30

R1: dc 1 in 6^th ch, (ch1, skip 1 st, dc1 on next ch) rep till end.

R2: ch4, dc1 on dc-st, (ch1, dc1 on dc) rep till end

Repeat row 2 till there are 20 window lines.

Now make single crochet in each st and sc 2 in sides double crochets. Also at corner work sc3, cl

Now fold as shown in photo. If you want you can sew linen here and make the beautiful purse here itself, still it will look beautiful.

Now join blue yarn at first st below, make ch3 keeping working loop on RS and working yarn on WS in first window, go vertically and repeat till end. Remove hook from working loop, get the loop on back side by hook. BO.

Then join dark blue yarn in the first st on next vertical row of windows and repeat as that for light blue yarn.

Then work with alternate colours till end.

Hide yarn ends, it’s tedious job.

Now fold it as shown and sew the sides by sl st.

BELT: Make chs 41, sc 1 in back bump of each st. Sew the belt properly.

Also make loop of chs 6 or 8 as per the size of button and attach it at the centre of flap of the purse. Sew button also.

The decorate it with some beads or Latkan as shown.

The beautiful bag is ready.

Crochet Batawa, Crochet Draw String Bag

How are you all? busy in Christmas planning! So this is my next creation, BATAWA, Draw String Bag. I made it perticularly for Sankranti. In this festival ladies meet each other for Haldi Kumkum and Oti is given for which ladies need small bag (Batawa). In many occassions Oti contains Coconut and if we put it in ordinary crochet bag then it elongates and it's shape is disturbed, to avoid this I manage wooden base for this bag so that when we put Oti with coconut in this bag it's shape is not disturbed and looks beautiful any time.

Weight 55 gm, Height 6” and Diameter of base 4” with 37 holes.

R1: In magic loop with pink yarn, make dc 15, cl (15)

First dc is ch3.

R2: dc 2 in each st, cl (30)

R4: (dc1 in 2 sts, dc2 in next) 15 times, cl (60)

R5: (dc1 in 3 sts, dc2 next) 15 times, cl, (75)

R6: (sc1 in st along with hole, sc1 in same hole) 36 times, sc3 in last hole, cl. (75)

R7: (5dc-popcorn, ch2, skip 2 sts) 25 times, cl

R8: sl st till ch2-sp, (popcorn in ch2-sp, ch2) 25 times, cl

R9, R10, R11 and R12 same as R8.

R9: with green, dc1 on dc-sts, dc2 in each ch2-sp, cl (76)

R10: with pink yarn, dc 1 in each st, cl.

R11: With white, ch1, sl st in next st, till end, cl BO.

Make chs till 23-24 inches.

Pompom: with pink yarn,R1: in magic loop, sc6, cl.

R2: sc 2 in each st, cl. (12)

R3: (sc1, sc2 in next) 6 times, cl (18)

R4: R5 : and R6: sc 1 in each st,cl (18)

R7: (sc1, 2sctog) 6 times, cl (12)

Fill fiber inside.

R8: (2sctog) 6 times, cl (6)

Close by tapestry needle.

Sepal: With green yarn R1: in mag loop sc6 , cl

R2: (ch3, dc1, ch2-picot, ch3, sl st in next st, sl st in next) 3 times, cl.

Sew this to the pink ball.

Make 2 pompoms like this. Pass the cord through the windows in R8 with white.

Attach pompom to both ends. The beautiful Batawa (Draw String Bag is ready.
