Crochet Jewelry Set Part 1, Earrings and Chain-Pendant

 

Hello friends,

In Maharashtra (India) Dohaljevan (a traditional Baby Shower ceremony) celebrated in Maharashtra, generally  in 7th month of pregnancy. 

The pregnant lady wears generally Green saree and sits in some decorative scenery, most of the time on swing. She wears all flower jewelry. All her friends and family member shower the blessings. They also sing songs and make her mood happy and fresh so that she will be mentally prepare for motherhood. They also prey for good health of baby and mother.

Now a days many of our kids are abroad where it is difficult to get flower jewelry set and all. Hence I have decided to make Crochet Jewelry set in Green. Here is part 1 of the set in which I made Earrings and Pendant with chain.

                                              

I use Vardhaman Dropill yarn for this and hook 1.75 mm. For threading beads I have to use 0.55 mm hook. Also I need some beads. As you can see in first photo that along with Green for some items I used Yellow and White. The whole set is completed in just 100 gm of Green yarn. Length of the Earring is 2.5". For smaller size you may use 1 mm hook.

PATTERN: Make ch2, thread a bead, ch3 and fix it properly with ch1 before bead. Now there are ch3 on one side of bead and the tread on other side of bead. 

R1: Make sl st on thread side space along with the yarn end which we have to hide. Make ch3, dc 7 in that space then turn little bit and make dc 8 on ch3-space, ch3 and sl st at centre. Heart type shape is formed.

R2: ch3, (sc 1 on dc-st, ch1) 2 times, (hdc1 on next dc-st, ch1) 2 times, (dc1, ch1) 2 times, (tr1, ch1) in next dc-st,

(tr1, ch3, tr1) in next dc-st (means middle st), 

(ch1, tr1) in next, (ch1,dc1) 2 times, (ch1, hdc1) 2 times, (ch1, sc1) 2 times, lastly ch3 and sl st at centre.

R3: ch1, sc3 in ch3-sp, then in ch1-sp make (sc1, ch3, sc1) 7 times,

at ch3-sp of centre (sc1, ch3, sc1, ch4-picot by sl st, sc1, ch3, sc1),

then (sc1, ch3, sc1) 7 times, sc3 in ch3-sp, cl by sl st at centre near bead.

Lastly loop of ch9 to attach Earring base.

Make one more.

Pendant is made exactly same as earring.

Chain for necklace.

(ch10, bead 1) repeat till the required height.

I made till the length is 22". Then pass through the ch9-loop of the pendant and make a knot as last on back side.
