Crochet Vitthalacha Tila, The Special Mark Worn on Forehead by Pandurang ( Kuldaivat of Maharashtra)

Hello friends,

In the first week of next month here in India particularly in Maharashtra there is a big festival of "Aashadhi Ekadashi". Festival of Vitthal Rukhamini, the God of Maharashtra. For details you may please refer https://solapur.gov.in/en/tourist-place/pandharpur/

God at Pandharpur, Vitthal is,

Look at the special mark worn on his forehead, that is called Tila or Tilak.
One of  the subscriber of my channel Kalopasak requested me many times to make this Tila in crochet. I don't know what she is goin to do with that. But seeing her dedication for that Tila, I decided to make it, that too urgent because on 6th July, it is Aashadhi Ekadashi, the festival.
I made it in two sizes. Bigger one's height is 3.5" and smaller is 1.5".
I used Vardhaman Millenium yarn and 3,5 mm hook for bigger one and 1.75 mm hook for smaller Tila.
Pattern: R1: With black, make ch2, dc 15 in magic loop, cl. BO. (ch2 not considered as first dc)
R2: ch2, (dc2) in each of the 7 sts, next is central st make (tr1, db tr 1, tr1) in that, (dc2) in next 7 sts, cl. (31)

R3: ch1, hdc1 in each of the 15 sts, at centre (hdc1, dc1, hdc1), again hdc 1 in each of the remaining 15 sts, cl. (33)

R4: sl st in each of the 14 sts, sc1, hdc1, at centre (hdc1, ch2, sl st in first ch, sl st like picot, hdc1 in same st), hdc1, sc1, sl st 14, cl, BO.

Sew a beautiful pendulaum type bead at centre,  Bigger TILA is ready.
You can make number of such pieces, sew it to some Toran Patti, the beautiful Toran will be ready.
(Computer generated image)
Now for the smaller Tila, use 1.75 mm hook.
R1: Black ch1, sc 7 in magic loop, cl BO.
R2: Yellow, ch1, (sc2) in each of the 3 sts, at centre (sc1, hdc1, sc1), (sc2) in each of the remaining 3 sts, cl.
R3: ch1, (sc1, sc2 next) 2 times, sc1 in 3 sts, at centre (sc1, ch2, sl st in first ch, sc1 in the same central st), sc1 in 3 sts, (sc2, sc1) 2 times, cl, BO.

The cute small Tila is also ready.
The following video with English subtitles may help you.
ETC: Enjoy the creativity.
