In my previous post I explained how to make Baby Sweater with Granny Hexagons. Now I made the Hat which has similar design as that of sweater. This is also for 1.5 years to 2 years baby.
Yarn: Vardhaman Millenium, hook 3.5 mm, Height 6.5" circumference 18" and weight 80 gm.
PATTERN: R1: dc12 in magic loop, cl (First dc means ch3)
R2: (dc2 in one st, ch1) 12 times, cl. (24).
Make a knot but don't cut the yarn. Join cream color at any ch1
R3: (dc3 in each ch1-sp, ch1) rep till end, cl. Sl st till ch1-sp.
R4: (dc4 in ch1-sp, ch1) 12 times, cl. Sl st till ch1-sp.
R5: same as R4
R6: [(dc2, ch1, dc2) in ch1-sp, ch1] 12 times, cl.
We have 24 ch1-sp.
R7: (dc3 in ch1-sp, ch1) 24 times, cl.
Measure it's circumference, it is 18" so now we only repeat next round.
R8: dc3 in each ch1-sp, cl.
Repeat this round till the height is 6.5", only use cream color for last but one round.
BRIM of the HAT:
R1: ch1, sc1 in each st, skip ch1-sp. (72 sts)
R2: ch1, (sc1 in 2 sts, sc2 in next) 24 times, cl
R3: ch1, (sc1 in 3 sts, sc2 in next) 24 times, cl
R4: ch1, (sc1 in 4 sts, sc2 in next) 24 times, cl
R5: ch1, (sc1 in 5 sts, sc2 in next) 24 times, cl
R7: ch1, (sc1 in 6 sts, sc2 in next) 24 times, cl
Thus increase 24 sts in each round. Repeat this till the height is 2".
I have to increase till (sc1 in 13 sts, sc2 next) 24 times, cl and there are 360 sts.
Last round with cream color, ch1, sc1 in each st, cl.

Many of my friends or subscribers of my Youtube channel Kalopasak requested me to make baby sweater with two granny hexagons. So I made this set. Here first we shall see how to make this sweater. It's beautiful and very simple to make.
I used Vardhaman Millenium yarn and 3,5mm hook. It's width is 11.5" and height 12". Weight 160 gm.
PATTERN: Make a ring of ch4.
R1: in the ring make (dc3, ch2) called shell, 6 times, cl. Sl st in dc-sts and sl st in ch2-sp.
R2: [shell on shell, ch1] 6 times, cl. Sl st in dc-sts and sl st in ch2-sp. Make a knot but don't cut it. Join other color in ch2-sp.
R3: [shell on shell, ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp, ch1] 6 times, cl.
R4: [shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp)2 times, ch1] 6 times, cl.
R5:[shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp)3 times, ch1] 6 times, cl.
Note that number of dc3 in ch1-sp goes on increasing in every round.
R6:[shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp)4 times, ch1] 6 times, cl.
R7:[shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp)5 times, ch1] 6 times, cl.
R8:[shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp)6 times, ch1] 6 times, cl.
R9:[shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp)7 times, ch1] 6 times, cl.
R10:[shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp)8 times, ch1] 6 times, cl.
R11:[shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp)9 times, ch1] 6 times, cl. Change color.
R12:[shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp)10 times, ch1] 6 times, cl. Again change color.
R13:[shell on shell, (ch1, dc3 in ch1-sp)11 times, ch1] 6 times, cl
Or make it as per your requirment.
Make another piece with same dimensions only complete 4 sides out of 6. Last round of remaining two sides will be completed while joining these two hexagons.
Then place these two pieces so that both are open on hand side.
Now start joining back side first, start at corner dc3 in ch2-sp of corner, ch1,
join by sc in ch2-sp at corner of other hexagonal piece.ch1 and then dc3 in ch1-sp of the hexagonal piece which is incomplete. Join by sl st with complete granny and make dc3 in ch1-sp of incomplete granny.
Repeat this joining till corner of incomplete granny comes. Then complete last side os incomplete granny hexagon usually.
Then sew shoulders by joint single crochet till one 3dc group remains to join.
Now we make collar.
R1: dc1 in each dc-st, dc2 in dc-row, dc1 at the joint of shoulder and lastly dc1 in ch1-sp.
R2: ch3 turn, dc1 in each st
R3: same as R2.
Now join yarn at middle st on back side of sweater. Now we are going to make sc-border along back side then one front, then button band, then collar, then button hole band, other front, remaining back side. So make
R1: ch1, sc1 in each st, sc2 in dc-row, dc3 at corner.
R2: ch1, sc1 in each st, sc3 at corner
R3: same as R2 with cream color.
Similarly make border by cream color to both sleeves.
Sew buttons and the baby sweater is ready.

In India marriage season is on the way and moms of brides are thinking of making some thing different for marriage: some thing uncommon, something artistic, something unique. So I made this Potali type bag or Oti bag to keep Coconut, 4 fruits and Rice given to bride.
Another use of this is as a tablemat. For Oti bag I made big base of 180sts in round but for tablemat or Aasan for Ganeshji I made one small one of 120 sts in round. In the following video I have explained only big one and the small blue one's pattern I will share here.
First let's see Big Drawsting Bag (Oti bag or Potali tyle bag. Yarn used is Vardhman Millenium and hook 3.5 mm. We also need 10 markers or yarn scraps.
PATTERN:
R1: In a magic loop, dc12, cl (12) First dc is always ch3.
R2: dc2 in each st, cl (24)
R3: (dc1 in 1 st, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (36)
R4: (dc1 in 2 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (48)
R5: (dc1 in 3 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (60)
R6: (dc1 in 4 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (72)
R7: (dc1 in 5 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (84)
R8: (dc1 in 6 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (96)
R9: (dc1 in 7 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (108)
R10: (dc1 in 8 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (120)
R11: (dc1 in 9 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (132)
R12: (dc1 in 10 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (144)
Initially I thought to make upto rounds 10 or 12 but then after 12 rounds also diameter is 11" so I have to work 3 more rounds.
R13: (dc1 in 11 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (156)
R14: (dc1 in 12 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (168)
R15: (dc1 in 13 sts, dc2 in next) 12 times, cl (180). BO.
Now place marker in one st, (skip 17 sts, place marker in next) 9 times. We use 10 markers at these places we shall make our PETALS.
BORDER: ch1, [(hdc1, ch5-picot by sc in between) 3 times in ch3-sp,
hdc1 in each st till 1 stitch remains to sc1-st of previous round,
skip that st, fphdc on the dc of round 15 below middle sc-st, skip sc-st and 1 more st, hdc 1 in each st till ch3-sp of shell] rep 10 times, cl. BO.
Insert Zari cord through the fphdc-sts around as we pass on cords in any drawstring bag.
When things are places inside and strings are pull on the it takes the beautiful shape as a potali,
Also if you fold petals downward it will take one more beautiful shape of Potali.
The following video with English subtitles may help you.
I know that if you want to make as a tablemat and not as a Oti bag then you will prefer to make smaller one as a Aasan for Ganeshji etc. Hence I made this pattern which is smaller one.
In this tablemat I made only 10 rounds of above.
For this table mat first 10 rounds are same as above R1 to R10.
PETALS: Place marker in any one st, (skip 14 sts place marker in next) 7 times. Means we shall make 8 petals at marker's place.
R1: [shell (dc2, ch3, dc2) in one st, ext hdc2, hdc 3, sc4, hdc3, ext hdc2] 8 times, cl
Now place marker in the dc of R10 which is exactly below the 2single crochets of R4 of petals, skip 14 sts, place marker in next. Repeat this till end. (We are going to mark centre of each of 8 petals where we hace to make fphdc)
BORDER: Join zari cord atch3-sp of shell.
[(ch1, [(hdc1, ch5-picot by sc in between) 3 times in ch3-sp, skip that st, fphdc on the dc of round 15 below middle sc-st, skip sc-st and 1 more st, hdc 1 in each st till ch3-sp of shell] rep 10 times, cl. BO.
The beautiful Tablemat, Doily, Aasan is ready.
For Oti bag the following video with English subtitles may help you.
