Crochet Fruits Part 5: Apple: (Home Decor)

Hello friends, No need to say any thing about Apple among the fruits. We learn from our childhood that "An apple a day, keeps doctor away" then we also learn A for apple etc and knew that how it is important to our health. So my next fruit in our fruit dish is apple. Pattern: R1: In a magic loop make ch1, sc6, cl the loop but don’t close by sl st, work in spiral. R2: sc2 in each st, (12 sts)
R3: (sc1 in one st, sc2 in next) 6 times, (18 sts) R4: (sc1 in 2 st, sc2 in next) 6 times, (24 sts) R5: (sc1 in 3 st, sc2 in next) 6 times, (30 sts)
R6: (sc1 in 4 st, sc2 in next) 6 times, (36 sts) R7: (sc1 in 5 st, sc2 in next) 6 times, (42 sts)
R8: to R14: sc 1 in each st, (42 sts)
R15: (sc 1 in 19 sts, 2sctog next) 2 times, (40 sts) R16: (sc 1 in 8 sts, 2sctog next) 4 times, (36 sts)
R17: sc 1 in each st (36 sts) R18: (sc 1 in 7 sts, 2sctog next) 4 times, (32 sts) R19: sc 1 in each st (32 sts)
R20: (sc 1 in 6 sts, 2sctog next) 4 times, (28 sts) R21: sc 1 in each st (28 sts) R22: (sc 1 in 5 sts, 2sctog next) 4 times, (24 sts) R23: sc 1 in each st (24 sts) R24: (sc 1 in 4 sts, 2sctog next) 4 times, (20 sts) R25: sc 1 in each st (20 sts) Fill fiber inside.
R26: (sc 1 in 3 sts, 2sctog next) 4 times, (16 sts) R27: (sc 1 in 2 sts, 2sctog next) 4 times, (12 sts) Fill more fiber.
R28: (sc 1 in 1 sts, 2sctog next) 4 times, (8 sts) R29: 2sctog throughout (4 sts) Close by tapestry needle.
Leaf: With green yarn, make ch 11 R1: sc1, hdc1, dc1, tr4, dc1, hdc1, sc1, ch1 at corner then on other side also make sc1, hdc1, dc1, tr4, dc1, hdc1, sc1.
For stem, with brown yarn make i-cord of 1" length.
Invert and sew stem and leaf at the centre of bigger side.

Crochet Fruit Dish Part 4: Guava:

Next fruit in this fruit dish is Guava.
R1: In a magic loop make ch1, sc6, close the loop. Don’t close by sl st, we shall work in speral (6 sts) R2: sc 2 in each st, place marker in first st of each round. (12 sts)
R3: (sc 1 in 1 st, sc2 in next) 6 times, (18 sts).
R4: (sc 1 in 2 sts, sc 2 in next) 6 times, (24 sts).
R5: (sc 1 in 3 sts, sc 2 in next) 6 times, (30 sts) R6: (sc 1 in 4 sts, sc 2 in next) 6 times, (36 sts)
R7: (sc 1 in 5 sts, sc 2 in next) 6 times, (42 sts) R8: (sc 1 in 6 sts, sc 2 in next) 6 times, (48 sts)
R9 to R12: (4 rounds) sc 1 in each st (48 sts)
R13: (sc 1 in 6 sts, 2sctog next) 6 times, (42 sts) R14: (sc 1 in 5 sts, 2sctog next) 6 times, (36 sts) R15: (sc 1 in 4 sts, 2sctog next) 6 times, (30 sts) R16: (sc 1 in 3 sts, 2sctog next) 6 times, (24 sts) R17 and R18: sc 1 in each st (24 sts)

Fill fiber inside uniformly. R22: (sc 1 in 1 sts, 2sctog next) 6 times, (12 sts) If necessary fill more fiber. R23: (2sctog) 6 times. (6 sts). Sew by tapestry needle.
Insert the needle from top to bottom twice to get proper shape as shown in next picture.
Stem: ch8 sc1 in each ch from second. Sew the stem at the centre of narrower part. Then get the yarn out from centre of lower end and insert it nearby again and get out from top. Pull the yarn to get lower end in shape (see video).

Crochet Fruits Dish Part 3: Grapes

Grapes one of the very useful fruit for health. It is also used for making jam, wine etc. They occure in variety of colours. I use 3 ply yarn and 1.75 mm crochet hook. Pattern: R1: In a magic loop, ch1, sc6, cl (6 sts) R2: (sc1 in one st, sc 2 in next) 3 times, cl (9 sts) R3: ( sc 1 in 2 sts, sc2 in next) 3 times, cl (12 sts)
R4 to R7: sc 1 in each st, cl (12 sts)
R8: (sc 1 in 2 sts, 2sctog) 3 times, cl (9 sts) R9: (sc 1 in 1 sts, 2 sctog) 3 times, cl (6 sts). BO. Stuff little fiber inside.
Close by tapestry needle. For bunch of grapes make 10-15 grapes.
Making Bunch: Take a small one, join new yarn, ch5, join another grape by sl st at the top stitch, ch5 join another grape.After 4-5 grapes, go down along ch5 by sl stitches and join a grape. Lastly make ch 8 and sl st in each ch from second.

Crochet Fruits Dish Part 2: Custard Apple / Suger Apple

Next fruit in that fruit dish of previous post, is "Custard Apple". Maharastra state (my native) leads in India for its production. It prevents ulcer, acidity etc. It has micronutriants which are beneficiary for skin. Thus very useful for health. It is also one of the income sourse of tribal people. For more production of this fruit, in my city one of the news paper press "Dainik Hindustan", runs the project every year. They ask people to give them all seeds in the custard apple they ate. As there are ample number of seeds in that and that too big; so after eating we wash the seeds and then donate it to that press. Their volenteers throw them in forest areas so that cultivation increases and it will help those tribal people.
Pattern: Olive green coloured yarn and brown. Crochet hook 3.5mm. R1: In a magic loop make ch3, ( 1puff, ch1) 6 times, cl, (6 puffs)
Puff means (YO insert in a loop, YO get 2 long sts) 4 times, YO pass through all 9 sts, fix by one ch. R2: [(puff 1, ch1, puff 1) in ch1 gap, ch1] 6 times, cl. (12 puffs)
R3: [puff 1 in ch1-gap between two puffs, ch1, (puff1, ch1, puff1) in ch1-gap between shell, ch1] 6 times, cl. (18 puffs)
R4: [puff1 in ch1 gap, ch1] 18 times, cl (18 puffs) R5 and R6: same as R4.
R7: [2pufftog, ch1, puff1, ch1] 6 times, cl (12 puffs) See how to make 2pufftog,
R8: [2pufftog] 6 times, cl (6 puffs) Stuff the fiber inside, and by brown embroidery yarn make some small embroidery on puffs as shown in video or in photo.
R9: [sc1 in each ch1 gap, sc 1 at the edge st of puff] 6 times, cl (12 sts) Stuff the fiber inside if necessary and sew the open part by tapestry needle. BO.
Stem: With brown yarn, R1: In a magic loop ch1, sc 6, cl (6 sts) R2: ch1, sc 1 in each st,cl (6 sts) R3 and R4: same as R2. BO. Sew the stem to the top of the custard apple made.

Crochet Fruit Dish Part 1: Banana

Hello friends, After making all vegetables I made this FRUIT DISH. Fruits which are the sourse of essential vitamins, minerals and fiber for our body. They also provide high range of health boosting antioxidants. So my fruit dish becomes a best home decor for placing on our dinning table. You can also use them to gift kids, so that they will get introduced to variety of fruits.
I am going to give patterns of all ten fruits shown in that fruit dish in a series. Some patterns are inspired by some other designers also but the necessary changes are made according to yarn and hook. The first one is Banana. See fig 2. In India it is called "Poor people fruit" because it is chipper compaired to other fruits moreover it has number of special qualities as controlling blood suger level, improving digestive system, helps weight loss, support heart health and rich in powerful antioxidants. Pattern: Yarn: Brown (B), Green (G), Yellow (Y). R1: with B, in a magic loop make ch1, sc8, close the loop and also cl by sl st in the first sc st. (8 sts) R2: with G, ch3, dc 1 in each st, cl. (8 sts)
R3: ch3, (fpdc 1, bpdc1) 4 times, cl. (8 sts)
R4: With Y, ch3, dc 1 in same st, (fpdc on fpdc, dc 2 in next st) 3 times, fpdc 1 on next, cl by sl st. (12 sts)
R5: ch3, dc 2 in next st, (fpdc 1 on fpdc st, dc 1 on next st, dc 2 on next) 3 times, lastly fpdc on fpdc, cl (16 sts)
R6: ch3, dc 1 on next st, dc 2 in next st, (fpdc 1 on fpdc st, dc 1 on next two sts, dc 2 on next) 3 times, lastly fpdc on fpdc, cl (20 sts)
R7: ch3, dc 1 on next 2sts, dc 2 in next st, (fpdc 1 on fpdc st, dc 1 on next three sts, dc 2 on next) 3 times, lastly fpdc on fpdc, cl (24 sts)
R8: ch3, dc 1 on next 3 sts, dc 2 in next st, (fpdc 1 on fpdc st, dc 1 on next four sts, dc 2 on next) 3 times, lastly fpdc on fpdc, cl (28 sts)
R9: (dc 1 on 6 sts, fpdc 1 on fpdc ) 4 times, cl (28 sts) R10 to R21: same as R9.
R22: (dc1 in 4 sts, 2dctog, fpdc on fpdc) 4 times, cl. (24 sts) R23: (dc1 in 3 sts, 2dctog, fpdc on fpdc) 4 times, cl. (20 sts)
R24: (dc1 in 2 sts, 2dctog, fpdc on fpdc) 4 times, cl. (16 sts) R25: (dc1 in 1 st, 2dctog, fpdc on fpdc) 4 times, cl. (12 sts) Stuff fiber till the bottom. You can insert the metallic wire to maintain the bent shape of banana.
R26: With B yarn, sc 1 in each st, cl (12 sts) R27: 2sctog throughout. Cl. (6 sts). BO and sew by tapestry needle.
