Beaded Plate Decor, Meherap

Hi friends,
This week I made this Meherap as explained in my post on Nov 17th of this year. I have also used beads in this plate decor. It is simple lace.

I used 4 ply wool and 30 beads for this.

Pattern:
Loop 1:Make 12 chs and remove the needle and insert it in the first ch and then pass the last st through the first and make a loop.
Loop 2: [Now ch 7 and db tr (double treble) in the first ch. Now make ch 1 and 10 sc (single crochet) on one side of this ch7-loop, then I also pass and attach a bead at the centre, then sc 10 on other side of the loop, place one bead
 and slip st with the first sc.

Loop 3: Now again ch 7 and db tr in first ch, note that h in this loop we don't make scs.]Repeat from [ to ] till the required length. Fig 2
lastly make the 12 ch loop as we made initially.

Now,
[[Ch 5 join in the middle of loop 2.
Then {ch 2 and db tr in the loop3 on the side which is formed by db tr (and not by chs), ch3-picot} repeat 4 more times, db tr 1 in the same loop (without ch3-picot), ch 2 join with middle st of next loop 2.]] Fig 3

Repeat this till the last loop of 12 chs.
In the last 12 ch loop make such 15 db tr and ch3-picots, all in ch12-loop 1. Fig 4

Simple Ladies Shoes:

Hallo friends,
This is winter season in India and it's time to wear woolen sweaters, caps and shoes. So I made these most simple ladies booties.

My daughter in law order these plastic mannequins for me, when I was in USA and she knew that I have to Ladies Booties video in my Youtube channel Kalopasak. But at that time I could not make it. So I made it now.

Pattern: Take the measurements, first length of the foot and wrapped length of the front side of the foot (see video). If the length of the foot is 9" then start with chains whose length is equal to 8.5".
So with my little bit bulky yarn and 5mm crochet hook, I have to make 30 sts for 8.5" length.

 R1: Ch 1 turn, single crochet (sc) 1 in each stitch from second. (30 sts). See fig 3.
R2: same as R1.
Repeat this row till the length equals to the wrapped length of foot. See fig 4. Wrap it round the toe portion of the foot as in fig 5. If it is properly wrapped then bind off.

Now sewing part is very important.

Thread the tapestry needle and pass it through the toe side of that rectangle. Fig 6. Tie the knot tightly. Then pass the thread to close the hole if any.

Now sew the portion as shown in fig 7.

 Then also sew the back side as in fig 8.

Lastly fold the corner where my right hand is there in fig 8,  and sew all the three sides of that triangle formed as shown in fig 9.

 Turn to see the right side. Then make a border of half double crochet (hdc) in each st round the wearing portion so that it will get support. See fig 10. Now while making hdc border; on the back side of shoe, work 2hdctog so that it will get proper shape. See fig 11.

Then make one more shoe. Fig 1.
This is the most simple pattern of the shoe made from a rectangle and still it is very good in fitting.

I wear it and it surprisingly fits very well. Fig 2.

Though it is very old pattern, I enjoyed it's making and hope that you like my creation.

Decorated Christmas Tree

Hi,
Friends, this is December and people in India as well as in all over the world, are waiting for Christmas. They are busy in planning about Christmas decoration. My little grandson and daughters in USA had already decorated Christmas tree. So here I made this decorated crochet Christmas tree at my home for the group of subscribers of my channel "Kalopasak".

This is one foot high tree, beads are there as bulbs and other ornaments as Santa, Sock, Star, Snow flake, Bells etc are also attached.

Pattern:
R1: Magic loop with ch 3 and 5 dcs, close by sl st in third ch.
(6 sts)
R2: ch 3 and dc 1 in first st, (dc 1 in next st, dc 2 in next) repeat once, dc 1 in next, close, (9 sts)
R3: ch 3 and dc 1 in first st, (dc 1 in next 2 sts, dc 2 in next) repeat, dc 1 in last 2 sts, close, (12 sts)
R4: ch 3 and dc 1 in first st, (dc 1 in next 3 sts, dc 2 in next) repeat, dc 1 in last 3 sts, close, (15 sts)
R5: ch 3 and dc 1 in first st, (dc 1 in next 4 sts, dc 2 in next) repeat, dc 1 in last 4 sts, close, (18 sts)
R6: ch 3 and dc 1 in first st, (dc 1 in next 5 sts, dc 2 in next) repeat, dc 1 in last 5 sts, close, (21 sts).

This we go on increasing 3 sts in each row. Repeat these rows increasing number of sts by 1 every time, in which dc 1 is worked, till the expected height is reached. In my case I worked 25 rows and finally my stitches were 78. Then bind off.

Now thread sufficient number of beads in green yarn attach the yarn at some st where the first round is complete.

Work ch 3, bead 1, ch 1 and join by sc 1 in the next st of the same row. As you go farther, you may attach it by sc 1 skipping one st. Also you may have each 7 ch round with bead or some some with bead and some without bead.

After finishing one round ch 3 and go to the st below this round and repeat the same for all rounds.

Now we make star or snow flake. There are variety of snow flakes and stars but here we make very simple one.

Star: R1: In a magic loop, ch 1 and sc 6, close by sl st.
R2: (ch 3, sl st in second and third chs from the hook, sl st in a stwhere ch 3 started, sc 1 in next st) repeat 5 more times, BO. See fig 2

Bells and Bow: R1:In a magic loop, ch 3, dc 5, close by sl st in 3rd ch. (6 sts)
R2: ch 2, hdc 2 in first and forth st, hdc 1 in all other sts, close by sl st in 2nd ch. (8 sts)
R3: Ch 1, sc 2 in first and fifth st, sc 1 in all other sts, close by sl st in first sc. (10 sts)
We make 2 such bells and then for bow make 8+3=11 chs. dc 1 in each st starting from 4th ch. (7sts)
Bind off and tie it in the centre with two bells we made.

Sock: R1:With red yarn, in a magic loop make ch 3, dc 5, close the loop and sl st in 3rd ch. (6sts)
R2: ch3, dc 1 in same st, dc 2 in each st, close by sl st in third ch, (12 sts).
R3: ch3, dc 1 in each st, close by sl st in third ch, (12 sts)
R4: Join white yarn, sc1, hdc1, dc1 in next 3 sts, hdc 1 in next, sc 1, sl st in next, turn, (we didn't work all sts)
R5: Same as R4, last st by red color
R6: Ch 3, dc 1 in each st (all red and white sts) (12 sts)
R7 as R6, join white color.
R8: ch 3, dc 1 in each st close by sl st (12 sts)
R9: ch 1, sc 1 in each of next 5 sts, ch 8, sc 1 in all remaining sts, close by sl st, bind

Santa: R1: With pink color, in a magic loop, ch 3, dc 11, close by sl st in third ch. (12 sts)
R2: ch 1, sc2 in each st, close by sl st in first sc. (24 sts)
On one third of this we make cap. We make it seperately and then sew.
Cap: ch 8+3= 11 chs
R1: dc 1 in each st from forth ch, (8sts) and join red color at last.
R2:As R1 with red color (8sts)
R3: 2dctog in first and last 2 sts, dc 1 in middle 4 sts, (6sts)
R4: As R3. (4sts)
R5: incomplete dc in each st YO and pass through all of them.
Get double strand and make chains 12 then attach small white pom pom at the end.
Beard: join white yarn and work on 24-8=16 sts
Then made, (sc 1, hdc 1 in first st, dc 1 in next, hdc 1, sc 1 in next) repeat this 4 more times.
Then ch 3 turn on back side,
(fpdc2 in first st, fptr 2 in next, 2fpdc on next) repeat 4 more times.
Sewed cap neatly.
Moustache: take 4 pieces of 1 cm white pieces and attach them as moustache.
Eyes: Either sew black beads for eyes or in market eyes are available, stick them by fibre gum.
For lip cut it from Bindi and stick.

Now the last part I have done is for support to that tree, I took an old file in my home and make a cone of the same height as that of tree as in fig 7. Fix it with tape or stepler pins. You may also use drawing sheet or any paper which is little bit thick.

Attach glue or sew all ornaments to the tree then put the tree on this card board cone.


For ice: As it is Christmas decoration  children will remember ice and winter; for that I put some fiber around the tree as in fig 8.

Hi,

Friends, here is my new creation of 3D leaves yoke sweater for 1.5 to 2 years baby. After many trial and errors I am able to make this yoke.

This is top down sweater and the yoke is started with 72+2 sts for the design. So for bigger size you may add 6 sts and start the neck with 74+6=80 sts. In that case you will get 13 leaves(as here I have 12 leaves), for still bigger size you may start with 86 sts and so on.

You can also make variation, for bigger size of 86 sts we can make bigger leaves also. For example here we make the leaf of  width 8 sts and length of 9 rows, for bigger leaf we may increase upto 10 sts and then the length will be of 10 rows.

Repeat row 18 till the height is 13.5/14” and the last row is on wrong side.

Border:

1.       Make border of hdc on each st along button band, neck line and button hole band.

2.       Lower border of BUBBLES as follows,

Sc 1 on first st, [ch 3, incomplete dc 3 in first ch, YO and pass through all 3 sts, again  ch 3 incomplete dc 2 in first stitch, YO and pass through 3 sts on hook, join with the first gap by sl st and the sl st on first sc horizontally so that bubble will be fixed, sc 1 in next 5 sts] repeat till end.

Crocheted Laxmi's Footprint

Hello friends,

My reader out of India may not undersatnd, what is this? In Indian culture this is tradition to draw feet of Goddess Laxmi. In Maharashtra the feets of Goddess Laxmi are dailly drawn by Rangoli either near Tulsi tree in backyard or at prayer place in home as a symbol of prosperity, enrichment and happiness. It is supposed that keeping or drawing and worshinpping such feet in an incoming position brings all types of prosperity and happiness in our home.

My friend Pratibha Kulkarni0., one of the subscribers of my youtube channel "Kalopasak" suggested me to crochet such feet (as she wanted to make them for her marriage Rukhawat). Hence I made it. Through this post I wanted to thank her for inspiring me to do this project. 

To show that some one worshipped them, I put some termeric and kumkum (yellow and red small cut wool) on the feet and also night Jasmine or some more flowers.

I use pink and red (you may use dark pink as in fig 1) 4 ply wool and 2.5 mm crochet hook.

Simple Crochet Round Bag

Hi,
Yesterday I made this simple crochet bag. The bag is designed so that any one who have newly started crocheting, should also be able to make it. Though it is easy to make and just for beginners, still it looks beautiful.

I made it in Canon one pound wool with red and cream colour with 5 mm crochet hook. You may use any 6 or 8 ply wool. It's final measurement is, 11" in diameter.

If you use our usual 4 ply yarn and 3 or 3,5 mm hook with same design, you may get beautiful bag but smaller in side.

Here we have made simple crochet belt for this bag but if you use any ready made wooden or metalic handle for the bag, it will look more beautiful. But in that case only linen should be stiff.

Pattern:

R1: In a magic loop make ch 3, dc 15, close by sl st in 3^rd ch. (16 sts)

R2: ch 3, dc 1 in same st, dc 2 in each st till end, close by sl st. (32 sts). Join cream color yarn,

see fig 2.

R3: ch 3, incomplete dc 2, YO pass through all sts, (ch 2, skip 1 st, 2dctog in next st) repeat till end, ch 2, close by sl st, (16 ch2-gaps). Join red yarn, fig 3.

R4: (sc 1 in first ch2-gap, ch 2) considered as first dc, dc 4 in same gap, (dc 5 in each ch2-gap) repeat till end, join by sl st (80 sts). Join cream color. See fig 4.

R5: ch 3, incomplete dc 2, YO pass through all sts, (ch 3, skip 3 st, 2dctog in next st) repeat till end, ch 3, close by sl st, (20 ch3-gaps). Join red yarn, fig 5.

R6: (sc 1 in first ch2-gap, ch 2) considered as first dc, dc 5 in same gap, (dc 6 in each ch3-gap) repeat till end, join by sl st (120 sts). Fig 6.

 R7: ch 3, dc 1 in each st (120 sts). See fig 7.

Make 2 such pieces.

Belt: Ch 203, dc 1 in each ch from 4^th ch (200 dcs). Join the two ends so that there should not be twist. Fig 8.

Sew only 80 sts (2/3 rd of total 120) and leave 40 st

unsewed (open) with one part so that this joint should be at bottom of the bag. Sew other part also.

Then make 3 pendants of 27, 30 and 33 chains respectively, attach one bead at each end, tie the three and attach at the centre of the bag.

Similarly make 3 more pendants and attach to other side.

The beautiful bag is ready. Fig 9.

3D Flower Doily, Table Mat, Thalposh

Hi,
Crochet Table mat or Doily are very famous in all over the world. Moreover 3D crochet is now a days very flourishing subject in crochet. I combine both of these and made this doily.

It's central part is same as that of 3D tea coaster, for link of the post in blog, please see,

It is made in 4 ply wool with 3.5 mm crochet hook.
It's diameter comes out to be 15".
The back side of the table mat looks as in fig 2

R12: sc 1, ch 2, (as first dc), dc1 in each sc of the previous row, skipping all sl sts of previous round, close by sl st in the second ch. See fig 4

R13: sc 1, ch 3 (as first dc and ch 1), [{skip first dc, out of 9 and bud on next dc (bud means 3 incomplete FPdcs, Yarn over (YO) and pass through all 4 sts on the hook), BPdc 1 in next} two more times, bud in next dc, skip last dc, ch 1, dc 1 in the joint, ch 1, two loops / windows formed] repeat till end, lastly skip that dc 1 ch 1 written in bold in [] and join by sl st.  R14: sc 1, ch 4 (as first dc and ch 2), [{bud on next dc, BPdc 1 in next}one more time, bud 1 in next, ch 2, dc 1 in previous loop, ch2, dc 1 in next loop, ch 2(3 loops formed) ] repeat till end,  join by sl st

R15: sc 1, ch 5 (as first dc and ch 3), [bud on next dc, BPdc 1 in next, bud 1 in next, (ch 3, dc 1 in previous loop) three more times, ch 3 (4 loops formed) join by sl st.

R16: sc 1, ch 6 (as first dc and ch 4), [bud on next dc, (ch 4, dc 1 in previous loop) four  more times, ch 4 (5 loops formed) join by sl st. Fig 7.

R17: sl st 1 in each st till edge point of the 1 bud st comes, [tr 10 on the dc of the previous round, pass the hook through two parts of the middle loop (close the middle loops / window) sl st in that, 10 tr in next dc sl st at the edge point of bud] repeat till end, close by sl st. For, how to close middle loop please see fig 8.
