Small Crochet Aasan for Lakshmiji in Diwali

Hello friends,

Here is a very small doily I made as Lakshmiji's Aasan (Rug to sit) for Diwali. It's design is having border of small Panati (Diwali Diya). Hence it is Diwali special small doily. Ofcourse you can make it in bigger size also. It looks beautiful.

You can use it as small Diwali or Sankranti gifts to friends.

Width 4.7” weight 11gm, Yarn Vardhamaan Millenium, Hook 1.75 mm

PATTERN: With Blue make

R1: dc16 in magic loop, cl (16).

R2: dc2 in each st. cl. (32).

R3: (dc1 in 1 st, dc2 in next) 16 times, cl (48).

R4: (dc1 in 2 sts, dc2 in next) 16 times, cl (64).

R5: (dc1 in 3 sts, dc2 in next) 16 times, cl (80).

Join green yarn at any st.

R6: ch1, sc1 in 3 sts, [(sc1, dc5, sc1) on next double crochet (noy on stitch), turn little, (sc1, dc5, sc1) on next double crochet, sc1 in 6 sts] 10 times, sc3, cl.

R7: Join orange yarn in the gap between two double crochets on which we worked (sc1, dc5, sc1), ch4, incomplete double treble 4 in the same gap, YO pass through all 5 sts, ch2-picot, BO and hide the yarn.

Repeat this is each of the 10 gaps.

Lastly decorate it as I have glue the Jari chord along the semicircle showing Panati’s shape or sew small beads along semi circle.

When the fabric fevicol will dry the white part seeing in the above photo near chord will be vanished.

The beautiful small aasan is ready as in fig 1.

The following video with Eng subtitles may help you.

ETC: Enjoy the Creativity.
